Arsenal fans were beside themselves as they watched Declan Rice display his elite tackling skills in the 6-0 Champions League defeat of Lens on Wednesday night.
The Gunners secured top spot in Group B thanks to goals from Kai Havertz, Gabriel Jesus, Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Martinelli, Martin Odegaard and Jorginho.
And despite not scoring at the Emirates, Rice won plaudits for his incredible double tackle that thwarted a second-half attack from the French side.
The England midfielder tipped the ball off the toes of Lens defender Kevin Danso before quickly turning and executing a perfect diving challenge to dispossess Neil El Aynaoui.
Arsenal fans have praised the striking volley on social media, with many convinced his arrival in the summer has ushered in a period of success for the north London club.

“Declan is out of this world man,” one fan wrote on X, formerly Twitter. Another wrote: ‘That’s world class, idg what everyone says…Rice is ridiculous.’
One fan was convinced Arsenal could beat Chelsea’s Premier League record for fewest goals conceded in a season, commenting: ‘They keep saying this guy is average. We would all be ready if Arteta let him go to City. Chelsea would say goodbye to the least number of goals conceded.’
While another hoped Thomas Partey’s return and January additions would see Mikel Arteta’s side claim major honors this season.
