Olivia Colman debuts platinum blonde hair at Wonka world premiere in London after ditching her signature brunette locks
Olivia Colman showed off a bold new take at the world premiere of Wonka at London’s Royal Festival Hall.
The Oscar-winning actress, 49, ditched her signature short brunette locks for platinum blonde.
Her cropped hairstyle was styled in a sleek side part as she proudly showed off her stunning new look on the star-studded red carpet.
Just 24 hours earlier, at a London photocall for Wonka, Olivia was pictured with her brown locks, so she had clearly opted for a new look for her big moment at the premiere.
It’s not the first time Olivia has gone blonde. She previously rocked the look during the 2020 awards season.

“Olivia and I had talked about this [hair change] since November, when she was in LA doing press for The Crown,” the hairstylist behind the look, Marcus Francis, shared. British Vogue at the time.
‘Because she has a pixie cut, there was the freedom to try something new and fun; Not to mention she wears a wig for The Crown so she could do whatever she wanted with the color.”
“We initially wanted to make the big change in November, but her visit to LA wasn’t long enough to fit it in,” he explained of the dramatic transformation.
‘We tried again over BAFTA and Golden Globes weekends but still didn’t get enough time. When we were in London, we both agreed that the Oscars would be the right time.”
Olivia’s latest role is in the highly anticipated Wonka, which tells the story of the chocolatier before he opens his chocolate factory.
It is scheduled for official release in the UK on December 8, just in time for Christmas.
The film is based on Roald Dahl’s classic 1964 novel Charlie And The Chocolate Factory and is directed by Paul King, who previously directed Paddington and its sequel.
Olivia plays Mrs. Scrubbit stars in the film alongside Timothée Chalamet, 27, who plays Willy Wonka, and Hugh Grant as Oompa Loompa.
