Shocking moment woman is robbed by rifle-wielding gang on busy Chicago street – before suspects stick up three other people and cops REFUSED to follow them
This is the shocking moment a pedestrian was robbed at a Chicago intersection by a gun-wielding gang.
The incident occurred on September 23, but surveillance video from the scene was not revealed until Wednesday after the city’s Office of Emergency Management and Communication declined to release it.
As the woman crossed the six-way intersection at 4:45 a.m., a silver sedan pulled up when a suspect pointed the gun at her and the others shook her down.
They then fled and robbed four other people as officers in the area refused to follow the armed suspects.
The terrifying images emerged just before 20 armed robberies hit the crime-ridden city on Sunday alone.
Four masked suspects attacked a woman on a busy Chicago street and robbed her at gunpoint
The video of the woman being robbed begins as she crosses the walkway on North Avenue in the heart of Wicker Park before the car stops.
The passenger doors swing open as a suspect dressed in black with a mask on his face points the gun straight at her.
Three more attackers dressed in a light gray hoodie and black outfits then go after the woman who let go of her suitcase that is on the corner.
With her hands up, she gave up her backpack as one of the robbers grabbed it and the other two went through her pockets.
A white SUV stops at a red light at the intersection and the suspect with the gun points it directly at the vehicle and waves it to continue driving.
The thief in the gray hoodie grabs the last of her stolen goods and the four of them pile back into the car and run away.
The woman remains standing on the corner with her suitcase and glances out into the street before turning and going back the way she came.
Surveillance video of the crime was then reviewed by Chicago police officers, who alerted other patrol units to the descriptions of the masked robbers.
According to CWB ChicagoThe getaway car’s left headlight was out and the right rear window was broken.

While the robbery was taking place, a white SUV stopped at a red light near the crime scene. The suspect with the rifle pointed the gun at the car and motioned for the driver to continue driving
After the gang left the innocent woman, they stopped again a block away and hit another victim in the head with the point of the gun.
Just a few minutes later, they robbed another woman and threatened her with a gun on the 900 block of West Randolph in the West Loop, authorities said.
They punched the second woman in the face before heading to their final victim of the night, located near Lake and Elizabeth streets.
While this was happening, a police sergeant reportedly witnessed the car driving through the West Loop.
He told it on the radio before deciding not to investigate the brutal suspects.
Chicago Police Department policy states that officers will not be punished if they decide not to pursue a suspect.
The policy was implemented after the city realized how much these pursuits cost in monetary damages and lost lives because they typically end in car accidents.
It is unclear why these officers decided not to pursue the suspects that night.
