Former NFL wide receiver Dez Bryant has echoed some NBA fans’ criticism of Malika Andrews’ reporting on Josh Giddey amid the NBA investigation into the Oklahoma City Thunder star’s alleged inappropriate relationship with a minor.
Allegations against 21-year-old Giddey surfaced earlier this month as the Australian is accused of having an inappropriate relationship with an alleged underage girl after photos and videos of the two were posted by an anonymous social media user.
The NBA opened an investigation into the matter on November 24, but so far both Giddey and Thunder head coach Mark Daigneault have declined to comment.
Andrews, the host of NBA Today on ESPN, is now coming under fire for her lack of coverage of the issue, which some fans have even suggested is racially motivated as they go so far as to claim that they treat Black players differently then treats their white counterparts.
“@malika_andrews you went out of your way to crucify Brandon Miller on draft day for something he didn’t even do,” Bryant, 35, tweeted on Monday, referencing a gun incident involving the Charlotte Hornets small forward in February .

“I don’t understand how any former or current NBA player could sit there across from you and look at you with any respect,” he added.
