Brazilian baby who went viral seconds after she was born by frowning at doctor is now a ‘smart, affectionate and intelligent’ 3-year-old girl

The newborn who became a social media meme when she frowned at a doctor moments after giving birth in the operating room is now all grown up.
Isabela Rocha, 3, made headlines on February 13, 2020, after she disobeyed the midwife who tried to make her cry after birth β a sign that the lungs are functioning.
Instead, she was unimpressed and glared at the doctor, who asked her to cry before cutting her umbilical cord. The memorable moment was captured and instantly became a meme.
However, her mother has revealed that the ‘angry meme baby’ has grown up to be ‘smart, affectionate and intelligent’.

In a recent interview with Brazilian magazine Crescer, her mother admitted that the family never thought the photos would make her daughter famous.
βIt was definitely something we never thought about as new parents, but it was a moment that happened naturally,β Daiane Barbosa said. ‘We thought it was super funny and welcomed all the national and international ramifications of Isabela’s angry photo!’
Rocha finally let out her first cry before being placed in front of her mother, Barbosa, for their first kiss.
Rocha has seen the famous meme photo and even wondered why she was angry at the time, but her mother has withheld the answer.

Rocha’s daily life revolves around attending daycare and participating in extracurricular activities, including swimming lessons.
“She loves school and her friends, she knows everyone’s names,” Barbosa said.
Rocha also has her own Instagram account that her mother sometimes clears due to negative comments.
‘Raising a child for the world is very difficult!! But I just ask God that she grows up and becomes a great woman!,β Barbosa said.
