Chris Brown denies he is antisemitic in any ‘way, shape or form’ after being criticized for dancing to new single Vultures with Kanye West in Dubai
Chris Brown is pulling out after being criticized for supporting Kanye West at a listening party for his latest single.
The R&B artist, 34, was featured in a video clip shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, with the caption “How I’m anti-Semitic?” I just fucked a Jewish bitch,” came loudly over the speakers.
After comments like “You’re disgusting” and “What’s more sickening?” The lyrics… Or the fact that both Kanye West and @chrisbrownofficial think it’s hysterical?’ were posted in response to the viral video, the Go Crazy artist quickly took to social media to diffuse the situation.
Referring to Chris Brown’s infamous attack on Rihanna in 2009, one angry critic wrote: “Chris Brown an abuser and Kanye West a psychotic, narcissistic self-proclaimed mastermind.”
On Sunday, the How We Roll singer posted the following statement on Instagram.
Denial: Chris Brown is pushing back against criticism that he is anti-Semitic after a viral video shows him dancing to Kanye West’s song Vultures
‘In no way am I anti-Semitic!!!
‘I’m pro life and I make music for the whole world!!!!!! So please don’t think I’m spreading or engaging in hate!
He shared the statement on Instagram Stories, but added the addendum, explaining, “This is for the millions of young children that I look up to and am confused about.”
The Pills & Automobiles artist has come a long way in rebuilding his career after legal troubles, including pleading guilty to charges that he assaulted Rihanna in 2009 and being sentenced to anger management treatment in 2013.
Since then, he has been accused of assault several times.
The singer, like 46-year-old Kanye, has been diagnosed with bipolar disorder. He has also been diagnosed with post-traumatic disorder.
Late last year, Kanye saw his career fall apart after a series of anti-Semitic outbursts, including a promise to perform ‘death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE’.
In October 2022, shortly after that tweet, the Praise God rapper told Piers Morgan that he only intended to target certain specific Jews who he felt had exploited him.
Incendiary: The song contains the incendiary lyrics ”How am I anti-Semitic? I just fucked a Jewish bitch,” and Chris and other guests at the party were seen dancing to the controversial rapper’s controversial single
Statement: Chris issued a statement on Instagram on Sunday denying accusations that he is anti-Semitic and explaining that he released it for the benefit of ‘the millions of young children who look up to him’
Anti-Semitic: Kanye West, 46, saw his career unraveled last fall by a series of anti-Semitic outbursts, including a vow to go ‘death con 3 on JEWISH PEOPLE’
When the talk show host claimed the comments were “as racist as anything you’ve experienced,” the Gold Digger rapper responded “that’s why I said it.” I fought fire with fire.’
In an interview with right-wing talk show host Alex Jones in early December, Kanye praised Hitler for his “redemptive qualities.”
He also claimed that “the Holocaust didn’t happen” and promoted the conspiracy theory that black people are the real Jews.
The fallout from these statements was that the hitmaker lost his lucrative contracts with The Gap, Adidas and Balenciaga and more.
He was also ousted by his management team at Creative Artists Agency.
Chris’s fans seemed willing to give the benefit of the doubt to claims that he is not anti-Semitic.
Actor and producer Elijah Long, who has a house in Dubai where the party was held, wrote: ‘I’m so tired of tap dancing around ‘them!’ It’s sad that we have to come out and make statements like this. We cut this umbilical cord that they connected to us very quickly! It has been strangling us for far too long.”
Benefit of the Doubt: Many fans of the hitmaker seem willing to give him the benefit of the doubt. “They always try to play the anti-Semitic card, yet people are allowed to bash black and brown people all day long in the name of freedom of speech,” said one fan (pictured in Los Angeles in October 2022).
Palestinian Cause: Some fans have credited Chris with supporting the Palestinian cause in the current hostilities between Israel and Hamas. ‘It is not anti-Semitism to support Palestine. It just humanizes you if you’re not okay with innocent children dying,” argued one fan (pictured in Atlanta in June 2019)
“They always try to play the anti-Semitic card, yet people are allowed to bash black and brown people all day long in the name of freedom of speech,” said one fan.
“Damn champ, why don’t they let you live, you just dance and mind your business.” wrote another supporter.
Although the hitmaker appears to have made no formal statements regarding the current hostilities between Israel and Hamas, many have credited him with supporting the Palestinian cause.
