Sarah’s Day: Influencer slammed for wanting to send her presents to Palestine
A Sydney influencer is facing backlash over a comment about wanting to send gifts to war-torn Palestine.
Sarah Stevenson, known online as Sarah’s Day, asked her followers via her Instagram Stories last week how she could send Christmas gifts to the region.
“We recently discovered that we cannot get my books to Israel at the moment,” she wrote.
“Every year I participate in ‘Operation Christmas Child’, but I would like to know… How can I send gifts to children in Israel/Palestine?”
Many thought Sarah was trying to send her book Sunset Side Up against Sarah’s Day.

The 31-year-old’s post received a wave of criticism online, with many criticizing the influencer for her “out of touch” comments, while others pointed out that Jewish and Muslim people do not celebrate Christmas.
“Does she realize that ‘Palestine’ is currently a war zone?” asked one Reddit user.
‘I’m sure the last thing anyone in Gaza is thinking about is a cookbook. Her post is very embarrassing.”
“Is she aware that Jews and Muslims don’t celebrate Christmas, or has that escaped her?” asked another.

‘The children of Palestine have no food, shelter or water. Presents are the last thing on a child’s mind – this girl lives under a rock – not sure if it’s pure ignorance or if she’s just really stupid,” one person said.
Another added: ‘This is so tone deaf of her, hasn’t she seen how many children are dead there right now.’
The controversial vlogger has faced several incidents in recent weeks.
Earlier this month she was branded ‘racist’ for saying her son would be ‘the smelly kid on the playground’ if he brought curry egg sandwiches to school for lunch.

‘Do you want to be a “smelly curry egg boy”?’ she asked the boy.
Sarah’s statement infuriated one of her followers, who sent her a direct message accusing her of being “borderline racist” and casting “huge shadow” on an entire culture.
The vlogger explained herself and said she was referring to the ‘egg smell’ and not the curry.
“Didn’t everyone go to school with someone who brought eggs to lunch and you said, ‘Um, you smell like rotten eggs’?” Not “you smell like curry!” I’m racist when it comes to eggs,” she joked.

Sarah made light of the situation and then showed her followers how to make ‘racist eggs’ in a cooking tutorial.
She also joked that she was dyslexic, but then said it was fine because her husband has the learning disability.
More recently, Sarah bought back her stolen $650 Prada sunglasses after reporting them to the police in an attempt to get them back.
She was criticized online for complaining about her “first world problem” and wasting important police time when she reported the theft.
