Euro 2024 play-off draw: Live news and updates as Wales are set to find out who they will face in their bid to qualify for next summer’s tournament
The twelve teams are divided into three qualifying routes, depending on their Nations League ranking within their own League. The winner of each competition path will qualify for Euro 2024.
Wales and Poland are both guaranteed a home semi-final in Path A as they are in League A of the Nations League.
So easy so far. Unfortunately, things get a lot more complicated from here on out, thanks to UEFA’s tendency to come up with Machiavellian qualifying formats.
Poland are the highest ranked team in the draw, having finished ahead of Wales in the Nations League draw, meaning they will face Estonia at home – the only team in the draw from League D.
Wales, meanwhile, will face a match between Finland, Ukraine and Iceland, but more about that later.
The semi-finals for League C have also already been announced, with Georgia hosting Luxembourg and Greece Kazakhstan.
Georgia, Greece and Kazakhstan won their respective Nations League groups, while Luxembourg finished at the top spot.
