Muslim American Asra Nomani brands ‘radical Muslims working with leftists like Susan Sarandon’ a ‘woke army’ as she reveals friendship with slain journalist Daniel Pearl who was murdered for being Jewish and calls for Jews ‘to be unapologetic’
Muslim-American activist Asra Nomani has once again targeted Susan Sarandon after the Oscar winner stated that fearful Jews are ‘Just taste what it feels like to be a Muslim in America” in the wake of the Hamas October 7 attack.
Sarandon made the inflammatory comment during a protest in New York in response to an upsurge in anti-Semitism. In the fallout, the Dead Man Walking star has been dropped by her agency, UTA.
During a performance op Fox & Friends On Wednesday, Nomani, a Pakistani refugee who previously railed about Sarandon’s comments about X, said the actress was working with radical Muslims whom she called a “woke army.”
Woke Army is the title of Nomani’s book, which she published in 2023.
In her Fox appearance, Nomani also brought up her boyfriend, slain Wall Street Journal reporter Daniel Pearl, who was kidnapped and executed in Pakistan in 2002 for being Jewish.
“What I say to everyone is that Jewish people must be strong, they must be unapologetic in their identity and all people must support them without any shame,” Nomani said.

Nomani spoke about the freedoms she enjoys living in the US that would be denied in Muslim countries
Sarandon said at a protest on November 17 that scared Jews in America are “getting a taste” of what it feels like to be Muslim.
Speaking about Pearl’s death, Nomani said Pearl was staying with her when he was killed by jihadists. “The men who put a knife to Danny’s throat justified his murder because he was a Jew and a son of Israel.”
“From that tragedy I gained clarity and I knew we had to fight against that anti-Jewish hatred,” the author added.
Since then, Noman said she has been investigating the ties between liberal activists and radical Islamists, especially on college campuses.
For the interview, Nomani was dressed in an Israel Defense Forces hoodie, and bragged that she wears the sweater during anti-Israel rallies.
Earlier this week, Nomani went viral after her Twitter rant against Sarandon’s comments.
Nomani shared a photo of herself with her parents and said, “Hi Susan Sarandon, this is my mom, my dad and I on the trail in Morgantown, West by God Virginia. Let me tell you what it means to be Muslim in America.
“My father did not have to become a second-class indentured servant to one of the many tyrants of Muslim countries who use immigrants from India, like my family, as essential slaves… my father got a job as an assistant professor of nutrition.
“He was rejected at first because of his tenure, but because he was a Muslim in America, he was given a right like everyone else: his right to appeal and guess what? He won and became a professor.
Nomani declared Sarandon and her followers members of a “woke army,” which is also the title of her 2023 book
During her interview on Wednesday, Nomani also brought up her friend Daniel Pearl, who was killed by jihadists in Pakistan in 2002 for being a “son of Israel.”
Nomani’s first message to Sarandon, which quickly went viral
‘My mother? Being a Muslim in America meant she could live FREELY with the wind in her hair, like Masih Alinejad fighting for women in the Muslim country of Iran to enjoy.”
She went on to describe how she was able to safely and freely give birth to a baby out of wedlock in America – something that would have led to her death in some Muslim countries.
‘Where do you think I came to give birth to my baby safely and without shame? West by God Virginia in the United States of America – where we enjoy equal rights as Muslim Americans, not Americans.
“This is a taste of life for a Muslim family in America. Please do not minimize the experience of Jewish Americans by purging the hell that it is for Muslims living in Muslim countries and vilifying America for the life – and freedoms – it provides to Muslims like my family.
‘Go, live as a Muslim woman in a Muslim country. You come back to America and kiss the land beneath your feet,” she said.
Others compared her comments to those of Jane Fonda during the Vietnam War. Fonda was nicknamed ‘Hanoi Jane’ because of her continued condemnation of the US military efforts in Vietnam.
She traveled to the region and posed atop an anti-aircraft gun, something she has since apologized for.
