Elon Musk announces he will donate X advertising revenue to hospitals in Israel and the Red Cross in Gaza after backlash over his anti-Semitic tweet
Elon Musk announced on X on Tuesday that “all advertising and subscription revenue related to the war in Gaza” will be donated to hospitals in Israel and the Red Cross in Gaza.
Musk said his company will “keep track of how money is spent” and “go through the Red Cross/Crescent” to ensure the money doesn’t end up in the hands of Hamas.
The tech mogul added: “We should be concerned about the innocent, regardless of race, creed, religion or anything else.”
It comes after the Tesla billionaire was accused of promoting anti-Semitism after responding to a racist post with the comment: “You said the actual truth.”
The controversial exchange took place last Wednesday on Musk’s X platform, formerly Twitter, when a man posted a rant criticizing a campaign video from the Foundation to Combat Anti-Semitism.

“I’m not at all interested in saying even the slightest bit about the fact that the Western Jewish population is coming to the disturbing realization that those hordes of minorities who support the flooding of their land don’t particularly like them.
“You want the truth told to your face, there it is.”
Musk, who has 163 million followers, responded: “You said the actual truth.”
Musk has a long history of playing with dog-whistle rhetoric about Jewish people, especially George Soros, who angered him in May by selling his Tesla shares.
He has also angered people with his response to the war between Israel and Hamas.
In the days following the October 7 Hamas terror attack, Musk was forced to delete a tweet that recommended an anti-Semitic account and a promoter of debunked videos as reliable sources of information about the attack on Israel.
Musk faced a furious backlash after telling his followers that the @WarMonitors and @sentdefender accounts were “good” for “following the war in real time.”
Elon Musk, pictured in conversation with British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak on November 2, said the online commentator who accused the Jewish people of hating white people was telling “the real truth.”

Followers were quick to point out that @WarMonitors has repeatedly used “Jew” as a swear word on the platform and told New York supermarket boss Avi Kaner to “mind your own business, Jew.”
“The man Musk recommended for information about the escalation between Israel and Hamas is an anti-Semitic story with a history of spreading misinformation,” wrote Sam Sokol of the Israeli newspaper Haaretz.
On Halloween, Musk appeared on Joe Rogan’s podcast and reiterated his long-running criticism of 93-year-old billionaire financier George Soros, who has supported progressive causes for decades.
Born in Budapest, Soros survived the Nazi occupation of Hungary and moved first to Britain and then to the United States, where he began his hugely influential philanthropy.
“He is, in my opinion, the biggest contributor to the Democratic party,” Musk told Rogan. ‘The second was Sam Bankman-Fried.
‘And Soros, he had a very difficult upbringing.
“In my opinion, he fundamentally hates humanity. That’s my opinion.’
Musk said he was deeply opposed to Soros’ work in support of progressive prosecutors, who pursued policies he saw as soft on crime.

George Soros, 93, has angered Elon Musk with his progressive policies
“He is doing things that are eroding the fabric of civilization – by electing prosecutors who refuse to prosecute crime,” Musk said.
“That’s part of the problem in San Francisco, LA and some other cities.
“Then why would you do that?”
Rogan asked, “Is it humanity, or just the United States?”
Musk said it was global.
“He’s also pushing things in other countries,” Musk said.
Musk told Rogan that he thought Soros was “actually a bit senile at this point” — in June, Soros handed control of the Open Society Foundations and the rest of his $25 billion empire to his 37-year-old son, Alex.
The foundation transfers approximately $1.5 billion annually to groups that, among other things, support human rights around the world and help build democracies. Alex Soros said he plans to expand the foundation’s priorities to include voting rights, abortion rights and gender equality.
