As Americans get ready to sit down with their family and friends for Thanksgiving dinner this year, there’s one topic many of them are hoping to avoid: politics.
For those who prefer their turkey without a heated debate, the creator of TikTok Neko Ashi has revealed her brilliant hack to keep the peace this holiday season.
“So Thanksgiving is coming up, and you’re worried about people arguing about politics. Come on people! I have a solution for you,” she said at the beginning of her 30-second video.
Instead of asking guests not to bring up politics and hoping they comply, she came up with an appropriate punishment for those who broke her rule.

“At the beginning of the dinner, announce that anyone who speaks about politics in any way will be seated at the children’s table,” she advised.
To make matters worse, they will also be “responsible for keeping the kids entertained for the rest of the night.”
“That should shut them up,” she said.
She ended the video by wishing everyone a “Happy Thanksgiving.”
‘The holidays are stressful enough. Don’t let politics make them worse!’ she added in the caption.
The hack would likely work in large households, but one commenter noted that they didn’t have young children at their party.
Some also pointed out that younger generations may be worse than adults when it comes to starting political debates.
‘We have no children. My Gen Z son would rip his grandma apart if she tried so she’s smart enough to keep her trap shut (hopefully),” one person commented.
