Savannah Chrisley reveals she is ‘one step closer’ to bringing jailed parents Todd and Julie home after receiving ‘huge news’ in their case – as couple prepares to spend first holiday season behind bars

Reality star Savannah Chrisley has revealed she is ‘one step closer’ to bringing home her mother and father, who are currently serving a prison sentence for tax fraud.

Savannah, 26, took to Instagram on Monday and teased “big news” for her parents, Todd, 54, and Julie, 50, who were convicted of tax fraud in November 2022 and sentenced to 12 and seven months in prison, respectively.

‘I’m going crazy!’ Savannah admitted as much in the emotional clip, before telling her followers that she – and her younger siblings – planned to spend Thanksgiving differently than previous years due to the situation with their parents.

The social media star then revealed her exciting news.

“I got a call this morning and the appeals court granted our pleas. So I literally cried,” she said emotionally.

“It’s one step closer to bringing Mom and Dad home.”

She revealed that oral arguments would begin the week of March 25, 2024, adding that “only about six percent of cases submitted for oral arguments are accepted.”

‘So this is big news. We can start discussing why mom and dad should be home. So God is good. Thanksgiving victory!’

In the caption of the clip, Savannah explained that an oral argument in an appeals court represented a pivotal moment in each case.

‘The briefing has been written and the panel may already be leaning towards a decision. A plea is therefore an opportunity to confirm the panel’s decision in your favor, or perhaps your last chance to save your case,” she wrote enthusiastically.

Savannah has been caring for her younger siblings since her parents were found guilty of participating in a $30 million tax fraud and sent to prison in mid-January.

The couple’s children aren’t the only ones upset about the upcoming holidays.

Todd’s attorney Jay Surgent told TMZ that Todd was very upset as he approached his first vacation period, which he would spend with prisoners instead of family.

Savannah has previously spoken out about the challenges she has had to overcome while caring for her younger brother, Grayson, 17, and niece Chloe, 10, who was adopted by Todd and Julie in 2016.

Although she admits it’s the “hardest but most rewarding job” she’s ever had, Chrisley Knows Best alumnus Grayson and Chloe have thanked her for “showing her so much love, patience, grace, understanding and appreciation.”

‘I’m not their mother. I’m not their father. I am their sister and I get to love and guide them through life,” she shared in a lengthy post shared with her Instagram in July.

‘It’s tough being a bonus parent…no one could ever match their parents. But these children have shown me so much love, patience, grace, understanding and appreciation.

‘But luckily I had the most wonderful mother in the world to learn from. Thanks to her I can do this.’

The former reality star admitted that while being a “single parent” can be “so frustrating,” she knows that “God won’t give her more than she can bear.”

“Single parent/income households… I see you. We do it solo. It is difficult. It can be so frustrating,” she continued.

“But I promise you… God will not give us more than we can bear. I see you,” she wrote. ‘I believe in you. You can do this.’
