Michael Keaton’s full Batman Returns suit and E.T.’s original animatronic head set to go up for auction along with host of hit sci-fi memorabilia
Sci-fi, fantasy and superhero fans with some extra cash burning a hole in their pockets will get the chance to take home some iconic genre items next month.
Julien’s Auctions debuts the Robots, Wizards, Heroes & Aliens: Contemporary Hollywood Auction from December 14 to 17.
The centerpiece of the auction will be an original mechanical ‘hero’ animatronic head used in the 1982 classic ET The Extra-Terrestrial, created by Carlo Rambaldi.
A fully animatronic ET model previously sold at Julien’s auction for $2.5 million, with this original head expected to fetch between $800,000 and $1 million.
Items from the Marvel Cinematic Universe, DC Comics films, Harry Potter and much more will also be up for auction.

One of the other top items expected to fetch mid-six figures is the Model B-9 ‘The Robot’ from the iconic 1960s TV series Lost in Space.
This is one of only two full-size models of the robot created for the show’s three seasons, which is still functional and one of the rarest artifacts from that era.
The model is expected to sell for between $300,000 and $500,000, one of the most expensive items up for bid.
There will also be a number of items on sale as part of Warner Bros.’ 100th anniversary celebration, including a movie-worn costume from 1992’s Batman Returns.

One of the paintings features Batman’s nemesis Joker, with the piece called The Joker Steals Christmas estimated to fetch between $60,000 and $80,000.
Harry Potter fans can take home an original screen-matched special effects of the Headmaster’s Robe worn by Richard Harris in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which is expected to sell for between $50,000 and $70,000.

Robe: Harry Potter fans can take home an original special effects screen-matched Headmaster’s robe worn by Richard Harris in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, which is expected to sell for between $50,000 and $70,000.
The gold-colored glasses worn by Harris will also be auctioned and are expected to sell for between $10,000 and $20,000.
The Star Wars galaxy will also be represented with lightsabers from Star Wars: Episode I – The Phantom Menace.
The double-bladed lightsaber used by Darth Maul (Ray Park) is estimated to fetch between $40,000 and $60,000, while Ewan McGregor’s Obi-Wan Kenobi and Liam Neeson’s Qui-Gon Jinn lightsabers are expected to will bring $25,000 to $35,000.
A bowcaster used by Chewbacca in the iconic film series will also be auctioned, although no estimate has been given.
Superhero fans can take home some iconic items from the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
Chris Evans’ ‘hero shield’ from Captain America: The First Avenger is expected to receive $50,000 – $70,000 with his USO Shield ($20,000 – $30,000) and SPFX Master Shield ($10,000 – $20,000) is also going under the hammer.
Mark II helmet by Robert Downey Jr. from Iron Man and the The Mark 46 Helmet from Captain America: Civil War is both expected to sell for between $30,000 and $50,000.
Don Cheadle’s War Machine Mark II helmet from Avengers: Age of Ultron will likely fetch between $10,000 and 20,000.
Glasses: The gold-colored glasses worn by Harris will also be auctioned and are expected to sell for between $10,000 and $20,000
