Mexican restaurant chain Chipotle changed the name of a Kansas City restaurant to reflect a spelling mistake made by Chiefs tight end Travis Kelce more than a dozen years ago.
Kelce became one of many who at one point misspelled Chipotle’s name, calling it “Chipolte,” when he tweeted about the chain in a now-viral tweet.
“Got from class to therapy, now I need some #chipolte and then I’m off to check out my new apartment!!” Kelce tweeted in 2011.
Now a fast food restaurant location would correct that confusion.
Chipotle changed its profile photo to X on Monday afternoon to commemorate its Kansas City location.
The Chipotle location with the name change is located at 4151 Sterling Avenue, a six-minute drive from Arrowhead Stadium – the Chiefs’ home stadium.

Kelce’s celebrity status has skyrocketed in recent months due to dating Taylor Swift.
The 34-year-old tight end was already well-known in Kansas City and the football world, but calling Swift his girlfriend has taken his fame to epic proportions.
Chipotle first contacted Kelce on X last Wednesday, reposting his message and adding, “It’s me, hi.”
These three words are common lyrics in Swift’s song “Anti-Hero” released last year.
It was not reported whether the name change increased sales for that Chipotle location. However, trying to capitalize on the Swift-Kelce circus can’t be a bad strategy.
The two-time Super Bowl winner’s tweet about Chipotle was just one of his old tweets that resurfaced last week.
The Chiefs tight end used Twitter back in his college days in Cincinnati, and a hilarious post from that time has now gone viral.
‘I just gave a squirrel a piece of bread and he smashed everything!!!! I didn’t know they ate bread like that!! Haha #crazy,” he wrote.

Days earlier he also wrote: ‘I hate it when people talk to children like idiots, you don’t have to pronounce words longer or slower, they will understand anyway.’
Kelce’s tweets came before his junior year at Cincinnati, where he posted 13 catches for 150 yards and two touchdowns.
At the same time, his current girlfriend Taylor Swift embarked on her famous ‘Speak Now’ tour.
Swift released the album of the same name a year earlier, and it went No. 1 in the US and went six times platinum.
