Deni Todorovic: Non-binary fashion influencer is convicted after petty stunt to get back at ex-boyfriend following bitter break-up

Non-binary influencer and queer activist Deni Todorovic has been fined for damaging his ex-partner’s white picket fence following a tumultuous Australian Fashion Week.

They failed to appear at Burwood Local Court on Monday, where they were sentenced in their absence for defacing a fence belonging to his former partner Mitchell Latham with a black permanent marker.

The couple publicly confirmed their relationship in an Instagram video during Sydney’s Mardi Gras celebrations in March.

“You were among the best five weeks of love I experienced during my 35 short laps around the sun,” Todorovic wrote in a post the following month.

After about two months of dating, court documents show Latham decided to end the relationship on May 12.

Five days later, they returned home to find their white picket fence defaced and a bright pink handbag containing Todorovic’s belongings hanging from the front door.

Although the scribbles on the fence were difficult to decipher, the agreed facts show that one message read: “Call me by your name + I’ll call you mine.”

The victim recognized the quote as something Todorovic said often during their relationship and contacted police.

The incident happened hours after they were turned away from a fashion show during a turbulent start to Afterpay Fashion Week.
