White House tears into Elon Musk for his ‘abhorrent promotion of Anti-Semitism’, ‘racist hate’ and ‘hideous lies’ after he accused Jews of ‘inciting hatred against whites’
The White House attacked SpaceX founder Elon Musk for “abhorrent” promotion of anti-Semitism after he seconded an anti-Semitic post and called it “the actual truth.”
The extraordinary condemnation of the world’s richest person came in a statement from White House spokesman Andrew Bates on X, the site formerly known as Twitter that Musk owns after a controversial acquisition.
“We condemn in the strongest terms this abhorrent promotion of anti-Semitic and racist hatred, which goes against our core values as Americans,” Bates said. “We all have a responsibility to bring people together against hate, and an obligation to speak out against anyone who attacks the dignity of their fellow Americans and endangers the safety of our communities.”
His post came days after Musk commented on a post echoing the “replacement theory,” writing, “You said the actual truth.” He later reversed that comment.

“IBM will not tolerate hate speech or discrimination and we have immediately suspended all advertising on X while we investigate this completely unacceptable situation,” the company said in an announcement of the suspension.
The White House statement cited both the Holocaust and the October 7 Hamas attack in Israel.
“It is unacceptable to repeat the hideous lie behind the most fatal act of anti-Semitism in American history at any time, let alone a month after the deadliest day for the Jewish people since the Holocaust,” Bates said. “As President Biden said weeks ago in commemoration of the victims of the Pittsburgh Synagogue shooting, the “devastating atrocity of October 7 has brought to the surface painful memories left behind by millennia of anti-Semitism;” and under his presidency “we will continue to condemn anti-Semitism at every opportunity.”
The post Musk commented on hinted at a conspiracy theory that American Jews have a secret plan to bring in “hordes of minorities” to dilute the white population.

After posting the initial statement, Bates retweeted a series of press releases about the White House condemnation, indicating the White House wanted to amplify the message.
The White House condemnation comes after SpaceX’s founder withdrew from an APEC event on artificial intelligence, in a move so abrupt that his deputy John Kerry was not even told the reason for the cancellation.
Musk withdrew from a planned on-stage “armchair conversation” on the emerging topic, despite visiting an event at the San Francisco meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Wednesday.
Kerry told DailyMail.com that he did not know why Musk suddenly had to withdraw.
“I have no idea” why he couldn’t attend, the former secretary of state said outside the Moscone Center, where President Biden hosted world leaders on Thursday.
“Mark just asked me” to participate, Kerry said of SalesForce CEO Marc Benioff.

The soiree was held at the Hyatt Regency in San Francisco, California, with a price tag of $40,000 per seat.

On Wednesday, Elon Musk walked back his previous endorsement of an anti-Semitic post, clarifying that calls for “a Jewish genocide” were “unacceptable to any reasonable person.”
But he then resumed his long-running series of attacks on the anti-Semitism watchdog ADL.
Musk was accused Wednesday afternoon of promoting anti-Semitism after responding to a racist post with the comment, “You said the actual truth.”
Then two hours later he wrote: ‘decolonization’ necessarily implies a Jewish genocide. So it is unacceptable to any reasonable person.”
Musk, who has been strongly criticized by the Anti-Defamation League and the Israeli Foreign Ministry for his past comments, then attacked the ADL, accusing them of racism.
“And at the risk of repeating myself, I am deeply offended by the messaging of ADL and all other groups that de facto push anti-white racism or anti-Asian racism or racism of any kind,” he said.

Musk sparked the firestorm on Wednesday by responding to a man who posted a screed on X criticizing a campaign video from the Foundation to Combat Anti-Semitism.
The video shows a father talking to his son about the online hate the son has expressed and calling him out for his rhetoric.
