Before the team lost to the Milwaukee Bucks, the Toronto Raptors announcer hilariously introduced NBA rookie Gradey Dick as “Mr. Big Dick Energy’ on the player’s very first start.

The unexpected moment occurred as the announcer, Herbie Kuhn, shared the starting lineups of both teams at Scotiabank Arena in Toronto on Wednesday.

Kuhn has been calling the Raptors’ starting five since 1995.

“Number one, Mr. Big Dick energy!” he shouted into the microphone, before saying 19-year-old Hooper’s full name.

Footage of possibly the best highlight of the midweek match then went viral on social media as fans couldn’t believe the announcer continued with his joke.

“That’s wild,” one user commented on X, formerly known as Twitter.

‘Aren’t there a lot of little children there? It seems inappropriate,” someone else said.

“Blame his ancestors lol,” said one fan, placing the blame on Dick’s legacy.

“Trade him to Dallas and he could be introduced as Big D in Big D,” another person shared.

Gradey finished the game against Milwaukee, a 128–112 loss to Toronto, with 11 points on 2 of 10 shooting and two assists in 26 minutes of action.

The 13th overall pick of this year’s NBA Draft class also made a cameo appearance in a music video for a song by Drake’s son, Adonis, called “My Man Freestyle!”

Dick is averaging 4.4 points per game so far this season. The Raptors have a record of 5-6 heading into Friday’s NBA In-Season Tournament game against the Boston Celtics.

The team is currently the eleventh seed of the NBA Eastern Conference.
