This is the hilarious moment Rory McIlroy’s ball landed in a spectator’s lap during the DP World Tour Championship.
Fresh from a sloppy bogey on the previous hole, the Northern Irishman arrived on the par three 13th tee to make amends.
However, after setting up his iron shot, the world number 2 was disgusted with himself after spraying the ball to the right.
As the 34-year-old made his way to the greenside, he was stunned to discover his ball had come to rest in a spectator’s lap.
After being told to stay in her original position when the ball landed on her, the woman smiled nervously as the four-time champion pretended to clear the ball off her lap.

McIlroy laughs about the incident and waits for a rules official to come by and tell the player to drop the ball where the woman has been sitting.
While the golfer may have been smiling as he walked to his ball, he certainly wasn’t as he left the hole with a consecutive bogey.
However, McIlroy has already been named DP World Order of Merit champion for this season after Max Homa won the Nedbank Challenge in South Africa last week.
Unfortunately, the Northern Irishman could not save his par from this position
