Kim Kardashian confuses fans as she brands herself ‘GQ Man Of The Year’: ‘This is dumb and super insensitive’

Kim Kardashian has stunned fans by naming herself GQ Man Of The Year.

The 43-year-old reality star covered the magazine’s Men Of The Year edition, which honors a selection of people who have shaped culture, fashion, entertainment and sports in 2023.

Although Kim wasn’t among the winners, she was chosen as the cover star for the issue, where she posed in an androgynous suit and tie for the spread, before taking to Instagram to share: ‘Hi! I’m the GQ Man of the Year!’

Fans were baffled by the comments she made, posting: ‘I just feel like this takes away from the successful men’; “I think this is super insensitive. Here we are as a society still fighting for women’s rights, neither allowing transgender people in women’s sports nor wanting transgender men to advertise women’s clothing and bras. But we’re going to nominate a woman, Kim K, for MAN of the Year? And somehow that’s okay? no, I don’t like the double standard.’

“And this, ladies and gentlemen… is why America is now laughed at all over the world. Absolutely embarrassing’; “But like…you’re not a man. Hahaha, I’m confused all the time’.

In her cover interview, Kim revealed how her parents’ divorce helped her navigate her own divorce from ex-husband Kanye West.

The reality star, 43, who ended her marriage to the 46-year-old rapper, with whom she shares four children, in 2021, admitted it was okay to be “vulnerable” without having to say anything negative about her former partner.

Adorning the cover of GQ’s 28th annual Men of the Year She then recalled how her parents made her and her siblings feel “loved and heard” during the painful breakup, something she tried to do with her own children.

Kim’s parents Kris and Robert Kardashian were married for 13 years and shared children Kim, Kourtney, 44, Khloe, 39, and Robert Jr, 36, before splitting in 1991.

She told the publication: “I have thought about how my parents handled it with us.”

‘I just remember them being open… Ultimately, it’s about children feeling loved and heard. You want to be sensitive because they’re just kids, and it’s hard to go through it no matter what age they are.”

Adding: ‘You have to make sure you only go to a level that they can understand. It’s okay to show your vulnerable side. You never go to the negative side.”

Last year, Kim explained that she has tried to protect her children from “all the crazy stuff that comes with Kanye’s public outbursts,” but insisted that if they asked her about it in the future, she would be “willing” to answers. .

The mother of four broke down in tears as she discussed their public split Angie Martinez IRL podcast and compared the lives of her children to her own upbringing by father Robert.

Kim cried as she said, “I had the best dad. I don’t want to get emotional. For me it was just another day. It is difficult. It’s like co-parenting, it’s fucking hard, you know.”

“So if they don’t know what’s being said or what’s happening in the world, like why would I ever bring that energy to them? You know, that’s some really heavy, heavy adult s***. What they are not ready to deal with.

“And when they are, we’ll have those conversations and I’ll be so prepared for it, but until then, I’ll do everything I can to keep their lives as normal as possible.”

Kanye and Kim started dating in 2012. The couple married in 2014 and share four children together: daughters North, 10, and Chicago, five, and sons Psalm, four, and Saint, seven.

She told me too Vogue Italy in May: ‘If it’s something with the father of my children and I’m upset, I try not to show so much emotion’

“I need to be willing to explain why I’m upset, but it may not be appropriate for them to know. There’s nothing worse than “You’ll understand when you’re older.” I don’t want to be that person.’

Elsewhere in the interview, her sister Khloe said how Kim had found a ‘newfound confidence’ and a ‘different security in herself’ since the split and didn’t think the power was ‘in anyone else’s hands’.

Meanwhile, childhood friend Allison Statter shared how proud she was of her boyfriend for bravely ending the marriage despite “deep down wanting to keep her family together.”

Kim also revealed how she not only turned to a child psychologist for help and advice on parenting, but also relied on her Christian faith to cope with tough times.

Saying how she and her children pray every night before admitting, “I’m probably more religious than most people think.”

She also touched on her own father’s work ethic, something she has passed on to her descendants.

Robert sadly passed away in September 2003 at the age of 59 after a battle with esophageal cancer.

Kim recalled, “My dad made me sign a contract for everything. When I got a car I had to have it washed once a week, make sure it had enough gas in it and that I didn’t run it into the ground. It was a gift he gave me when I was 16, but I had responsibilities.”

And now North can be found most weekends with her own lemonade stand at the end of their street, trying to make some extra money.

‘She takes a huge jug and fills it, puts it in her cart and goes to the corner. She has a table and chairs and fans to keep herself cool. She makes plates’.

‘She stays there for hours and hours. Her friends help, so she shares the money with them. If a random person stops, she only charges them $2. If she knows you, she will totally scam you.”

Adding, “I’m getting calls from my friends saying she charged them $20 for a lemonade. She takes their $20 and says, “I don’t have any change.”
