New mum Shaughna Phillips reveals how she has put on five stone and says cruel trolls constantly tell her to ‘lose weight’: ‘I know I don’t look myself’
Shaughna Phillips has candidly revealed how she has gained five stone seven months after welcoming daughter Lucia and is ‘struggling’ with her postpartum figure.
The Love Island star, 29, who found fame on the ITV reality show in 2020, also spoke about the pressure of being in the public eye and how cruel trolls constantly tell her she needs to lose weight.
Speaking on her new podcast Oh baby! Shaughna explained, “One thing I definitely struggle with? I don’t look like myself. I can’t dress the way I want to dress because my body isn’t what it used to be.”
“Not only do you have this new body (after giving birth) that you’re trying to navigate, but you also don’t have time for yourself to try to get into a better physical or healthier state.”
After revealing she had already lost a stone during a recent health kick, she continued: “And I’m really trying now, but I have the added pressure of having to do that in the public eye.”

“And this morning I had people going, I think you really need to lose weight now.”
Later, Shaughna joked on her Instagram Stories that despite losing 15 pounds, she still had “three hundred more to go.”
Elsewhere during her podcast appearance, the stunner hit back at the body shamers, defiantly saying: “I can’t tell you how much they don’t bother me. I do not mind’.
“I’ve had real problems in my life with people on Instagram telling me to lose weight or to go, you know you’ve gained weight? Have I?’.
Shaughna continued: ‘You’re telling me I’ve gained five stone and I haven’t realized it. Of course I realized it, okay? But it tries to be present in the moment.
‘Like I literally told my friends, I’m not going out until I lose weight. And I know this is such a toxic way of thinking, but I don’t know how to deal with trying to lose weight, trying to take care of this baby, trying to do it in the public eye.”
It comes after the reality TV favorite revealed she would never want her daughter to watch repeats of her Love Island appearance, as she confirmed she is no longer in a relationship and is embracing life as a single mother.
She said: ‘I love Love Island but if I can get away with Lucia not knowing what Love Island is then I’ve won.

‘The thought of Lucia watching my Love Island season when she’s older – I’m going to need a lot of therapy!’.
‘And I would do my very best to make sure she doesn’t even know what Love Island is.’
The influencer, who appeared on season six of the ITV 2 reality TV dating show, revealed she doesn’t recognize the ‘good girl’ she once seemed to be.
‘If I were to watch that season again, it would be like watching it as a viewer. “I would say, I don’t know these people,” the podcaster said.
“We’ve all grown up, we’re all just different people now.”

In a candid and honest conversation between the two mothers – who gave birth just days apart – Shaughna shared that she wears the title of single mother as “a badge of honor.”
Lucia’s father, Billy, was charged on January 21 with one count of possession with intent to supply a class A drug and one count of being concerned in the supply of a controlled drug.
“I don’t feel any guilt about being a single mother, it’s just the card I was dealt,” the lifestyle influencer reflected.
“I just hope that one day Lucia doesn’t write a diss track about me!”
