‘Disrespectful’ trans activist Rose Montoya who went topless at the White House after meeting Biden at Pride parade now says she was ‘slut-shamed’ and received death threats

A transgender activist who went topless to the White House after meeting Joe Biden at a Pride parade claims she was “slut-shamed” and “received death threats on a daily basis.”

Rose Montoya, 27, untied the top of her dress and grabbed her breast on the South Lawn as someone shouted, “Are we topless in the White House?” in June. She was one of thousands invited to a Pride Month concert on the South Lawn.

In a new op-ed, Montoya claims the US has a problem with oversexualizing the female body – including when women want to “wear their breasts” in public – as she did when she was at the presidential helm in Washington DC.

Montoya – who began her transition in 2015 – made it clear that she believes criticizing people for showing off their breasts during “moments of joy and pride” or “in protest” is wrong and sexist.

She called for an end to the oversexualization of trans women after porn site PornHub reported a 75 percent increase in searches for trans-explicit content.

Montoya wrote on social media: “Everything I posted in June was met with overly sexualized comments, transphobic rhetoric, and hateful vitriol.”

She added: ‘I found it paradoxical how the same people could slut-shame me for being a woman, while at the same time calling me a “man”.’

In a letter published by TIMEMontoya wrote, “In a society where only about four in ten Americans personally know someone who is transgender, most people only have images of us, millions of them pornographic.

“This goes hand in hand with a political system in which our health care and our right to exist are often weaponized for votes. As a result, transgender people are too often limited to being viewed as sex objects, rather than as people worthy of dating, falling in love, getting married, or having a family.

‘Often, cisgender men fear that their interest in trans women will call into question their masculinity and sexuality. In other words, they fear that being attracted to us “makes them homosexual” and that being homosexual, in their worldview, is tantamount to not being a “real” man.

‘In my personal life, ex-partners have sold and leaked my private photos to other men without my consent, shortly after I broke up with them or when they feared the relationship would end.

“Both cisgender and transgender, men I trusted and thought loved and respected me, chose to violate my privacy and my body for profit.”

The Idaho-born model, who began transitioning in 2015, often films herself online in her “Trans 101” segment, where she explains things like how to be an ally.

Montoya has been open about her breast augmentation in September 2020, trachea shaving in November 2020 – to remove an Adam’s apple, and about a genioplasty in March 2021, which makes the chin more feminine. Montoya has not undergone bottom surgery.

She said of wearing breasts in public: “While it’s no secret that the US has a historic problem with oversexualizing the female body…

‘The public shaming of celebrities and athletes who embrace moments of joy and pride by wearing their breasts, to the demonization of feminist activists who have removed their tops and bras in protest…

“Sexism has always been most amplified among people with intersecting marginalized identities. As a result, the oversexualization of trans women is much more difficult to address and undo.

“People have shamed me for having a big chest and curves and for celebrating my physical experience of being a woman, while at the same time claiming that I am a ‘man who lies about being a woman.’

‘We must put an end to the over-sexualisation of trans women.’

When she undressed in June, the White House spokesperson said in a statement to DailyMail.com: “This behavior is inappropriate and disrespectful of any White House event.

“It does not reflect the event we hosted to celebrate LGBTQI+ families or the other hundreds of guests who attended. Individuals in the video will not be invited to future events.”
