Which Premier League team has the best attacking front-line?

This season’s best attacking line in the Premier League belongs to Man City trio Erling Haaland, Julian Alvarez and Phil Foden.

With last year’s treble winners sitting at number one in the table above Liverpool and Arsenal, this may not come as a surprise to some.

But looking at the attacking trios who have played together most often, Haaland, Alvarez and Foden have scored 30 goals and assists between them this season, which is seven more than their nearest rival.

With Haalands Thirteen goals so far this season and Alvarez’s four in addition to Foden’s three. The attackers together have twenty goals in addition to ten assists.

Meanwhile, Aston Villa’s front line of Ollie Watkins, Moussa Diaby and Leon Bailey have been the surprise package this season after amassing a total of 23 goals and assists.

Unai Emery’s men have been a revelation so far with Watkins leading the way for Villa with six goals in 12 games, while Diaby and Bailey have three goals each.

The forwards also scored eleven assists, with Diaby and Watkins creating the second most chances in the league.

In third place, Liverpool’s frontline Mohamed Salah, Darwin Nunez and Diogo Jota have scored 18 goals and four assists this season.

Tottenham is next with twenty goals and assists. Son Heung-min leads the way with eight goals, while Dejan Kulusevski and James Maddison have three.

The trio have also recorded six combined assists, with Maddison contributing five.

Surprisingly, Chelsea’s trio of Nicolas Jackson, Cole Palmer and Raheem Sterling are next in the rankings, after Arsenal’s Eddie Nketiah, Bukayo Saka and Martinelli.

Jackson’s six goals, combined with four from Palmer and Sterling, each contribute to their total of seventeen goals and assists.

By comparison, Arsenal’s most played front three, Nketiah, Saka and Martinelli, have just ten goals but six assists.

Fitting with their problems so far this season, Man United’s attacking front line of Marcus Rashford, Rasmus Hojlund and Antony have managed just one combined goal and assist so far this season.

Both the goal and assist came from Rashford, who scored 30 goals for United in all competitions last season. The wait continues until Antony and Hojlund get off the ground this season.

Now looking at which teams have the best attacking duos, Nunez and Salah top the leaderboard for most assists and chances created.

The Liverpool duo have assisted each other five times so far this season, with Nunez providing four.

They also created 19 chances for each other, with Salah setting up 13 in the Premier League, seven more than City’s Haaland and Alvarez.

Arsenal’s Saka and Trossard are tied with Maddison and Son and Wolves duo Hwang Hee-chan and Pedro Neto for providing each other with three assists.

Interestingly, while Arsenal’s attacking line has struggled to score as much as City’s, five Arsenal players have scored more goals than Manchester this season, which could indicate a different style of play.

Likewise, more Spurs players have contributed to goals than City this season.

Looking at the combined playing time of these front three, City’s Haaland, Alvarez and Foden have spent the most time on the pitch together: 2,941 minutes, appearing in 33 matches.

By comparison, United’s front three have played together just 29 times for 2,080 minutes.

Tottenham’s attacking front line of Son, Maddison and Richarlison have played the second most time together with 2,568 minutes, while Arsenal’s attack is in third place.

Despite scoring 18 goals between them, Nunez, Salah and Jota have only played 2,232 minutes together.
