Chelsea fans believe they have found footage of Mateo Kovacic celebrating Cole Palmer’s stoppage-time equalizer during the Blues’ thrilling 4-4 draw with Manchester City on Sunday.
It was action-packed action that went all the way, with Kovacic returning to Stamford Bridge following his £25million move to the Cityzens earlier this summer.
With City taking a 4–3 lead with just five minutes to play, substitute Armando Broja gained possession inside City’s penalty area but was brought down by Ruben Diaz. Referee Anthony Taylor then awarded a penalty, which was converted by Palmer.
But there is a video posted online by @LondonsFirst_with Chelsea fans claiming they can see Kovacic celebrating the equalizer.
As Palmer puts the ball into the back of the net, some fans say the Croatian midfielder can be seen turning away as he appears to throw a subtle fist bump.

Kovacic first arrived at Stamford Bridge on loan from Real Madrid in 2015, with the Blues opting to bring him on board permanently in 2019, before spending a further three years at the club.
And some fans have taken to social media to claim that the 29-year-old still has a soft spot for his old club.
One wrote on X: ‘His thoughts are still with Chelsea, once blue, always blue.’
“Bro forgot he switched teams for a moment,” another added, while one added: “Muscle memory.”
“Man fist pumped,” wrote another.
Kovacic, who won the Champions League and Europa League with Chelsea, has made 221 appearances for the club in all competitions.
For City, he has quickly become a key member of Pep Guardiola’s side, starting in six of the 10 games he has been available for.

Chelsea fans took to Twitter to joke about the clip with various lyrics saying ‘Once a Blue, always a Blue’
But City were left reeling after Palmer scored in the fifth minute of stoppage time to halve the points
His return to West London will be one of the most entertaining encounters in Premier League history.
Erling Haaland put the visitors ahead, scoring from the penalty spot after being brought down in the area by Marc Cucurella. Thiago Silva and Raheem Sterling would hit back with a quick fire double, before Manuel Akanji struck before half-time.
Haaland would put City ahead again just after half-time, tapping in a cross, before Nicolas Jackson hit back with his third goal in two games to make it 3-3.
Rodri looked to have struck an 86th-minute winner before Palmer scored his second penalty in consecutive games, crushing Man City’s hopes of putting more distance between Arsenal and Liverpool at the top of the table.
