Logan Paul quits boxing just a month after beating Dillon Danis as he insists there is ‘no money’ left in the ring and reveals plans to become permanent superstar in another sport

  • The online star has announced his retirement from professional boxing
  • Logan Paul instead explained that he wants to fight in another global sport
  • The decision comes less than a month after his boxing victory over Dillon Danis

Logan Paul has announced his retirement from boxing and revealed his ambitions to become a full-time superstar in another sport where he has already become a champion.

Ending his short-lived career as a boxer seemed like an easy choice for Paul, as the viral social media star and influencer confirmed his departure by claiming there is ‘no money in boxing anymore’.

His decision comes less than a month after Paul’s first win, where he defeated rival and former MMA athlete Dillon Danis in a bizarre heavyweight grudge match.

Immediately following that fight, Paul challenged WWE icon Rey Mysterio to a championship bout which the pair ultimately agreed to.

Paul defeated Mysterio to win the wrestling veteran’s United States Championship and now wants to continue his career in the sport.

“I think I’ve stopped boxing,” he said Fox Business.

‘I’ve done enough to remain completely undefeated at 25-0. I’m going to be a wrestler now.

‘No more money in boxing, every company is going bankrupt. Full-time wrestler. Defeat Rey Mysterio. Fair and square for the US Championship.

‘It feels great. It was a dominant performance. A few frog splashes, a few punches, it feels good.”

The 28-year-old is ending his relatively unproven stint in boxing, just over five years after his first foray into the ring.

Paul launched his name in the sport with a first fight against fellow YouTube star KSI in August 2018, sparking the growth of crossover and celebrity boxing.

The pair then matched up again, with KSI winning the second fight via split decision, with the duo then teaming up to start their PRIME drinks company.

Paul also fought Floyd Mayweather in an exhibition fight, but has been a long-time supporter of wrestling and is determined to try and become a star in the sport.
