EXCLUSIVE: Hugh Sheridan gets into the festive spirit at the premiere of his new Christmas movie Holiday Twist in Los Angeles

Hugh Sheridan is back to spread some Christmas magic with his new film, Holiday Twist, a wonderful addition to this year’s line-up of Christmas films.

Speaking to Ny Breaking Australia this week, the Australian actor, 38, opened up about his healing hiatus, his holiday favorites and the joy of the holidays.

After a challenging period following the death of his father, Hugh took a well-deserved break to Tel Aviv, but his trip was cut short when Hamas attacked Israel.

The trip was not just about respite, but also about reevaluation, something he hadn’t had the chance to do since he started working straight out of college.

‘I never did a gap year or anything. I’m always working,” Hugh explained.

“I just wanted to have some time to just not know where I’m going and to have a little fun… It was great.” It was really interesting,” he said.

‘It was tiring and I’m glad I did it. But at the same time, I probably should have just done it when I was 18,” he laughed, before adding that he had no regrets.

The Packed to the Rafters star, himself a fan of festive films, named Home Alone and The Grinch as two of his favorites, noting their timeless humor.

‘I still love Love Actually too, but it’s a bit dated. β€œI noticed it when I watched it last year,” he said.

Sheridan admitted that he does everything he can to preserve the myth of Santa Claus for his nieces and nephews.

β€œI’m trying to convince my nieces and nephews that he’s definitely real and everyone else is lying, as long as I can,” he laughs.

During the chat, the actor humorously recounted the “cringe” moment when he received a re-donated item he originally gave.

“I know someone accidentally gave me something I gave them before, that’s the worst,” he explained.

β€œThey actually gave it back to the person who gave it to them, but without knowing it. Oh, that’s definitely cringe-worthy. I’m not going to say who or what it was. They’ll know.’

Elsewhere, Sheridan praises the collaboration with actress Kelly Stables.

‘Kelly was brilliant. She was just amazing,” he recalled. “You know, a very funny actress and just a solid human being.”

‘As far as working with leading ladies: sometimes they are challenging, but sometimes they are really good.’
