Midfielder Albert Rusnak took advantage of a turnover and FC Dallas managed just one shot all night and suffered as the Seattle Sounders advanced to the Western Conference semifinals.

Rusnak’s goal was all it took as the Sounders won the third game in a best-of-three first round series to advance to Los Angeles FC.

After a turnover by Dallas centre-back Sebastien Ibeagha, a perfectly weighted pass found the feet of the Slovak, who hit it once and sent it into the back of the net.

It was the most efficient offense Seattle fielded all night, finishing with sixteen shots, but only four on goal for the evening.

Fortunately, if Seattle’s offense was inefficient, then Dallas’s was completely incompetent.

In a win-or-go-home match, the Toros managed just one shot on target all night – that came in the 89th minute of play from a Nkosi Tafari header.

They also had a single corner kick all match while having 45 percent possession.

Reflecting Dallas’ ineptitude, Seattle goalie Stefan Frei recorded a shutout – the 13th of his long career with the Sounders.

This loss extends FC Dallas’ streak of unlucky moments in the Emerald City. Since defeating the Sounders on May 25, 2011, Dallas has gone 0-15-4 at Lumen Field.
