Illinois mother Jonnie Angel Klein was shot dead at Chase ATM in suburban Chicago, leaving behind two children and her mother in her care – two suspects under arrest
Two suspects linked to multiple armed robberies have been arrested after a caring single mother of two died while driving to the hospital after being shot in the chest at an ATM in Illinois.
Jonnie Angel Klein had just dropped off her 15-year-old son when she pulled into the Chase Bank ATM on West 111th Street in Worth on Saturday at 3 p.m.
Seconds later, the 32-year-old was shot dead in an apparent robbery, leaving her son and her 10-year-old daughter orphaned.
Police arrested Jason Jerry Joseph Johnson, 23, and Tamara Jailynn Johnson, 22, the next day and revealed that the pair from nearby Harvey County are linked to recent armed robberies in the area and in northwest Indiana.
“Multiple firearms were recovered, one of which is believed to be the weapon used in the homicide,” Worth police said in a statement.

“She worked tirelessly to provide for her family without complaint,” wrote Gofundme organizer Jacquelyn Valasek.
Klein’s devastated relatives have paid tribute to the “light of our family”, who also cared for her elderly mother as she battled cancer.
And a Gofundme page has been set up to help provide for her children’s future.
“She worked tirelessly to provide for her family without complaint,” organizer Jacquelyn Valasek wrote.
“She’s been through a lot of battles; she was a warrior who never gave up.
“Through her positive presence and attitude of service, she shone God’s light into the lives of so many people without even knowing it.”
A former high school friend recalled Kelin’s kindness to her when she became pregnant in high school.
“Anyone who knew Jonnie knew that she was very well behaved and strong, but she was the most caring, selfless person alive,” Angie Bustamantez wrote on Facebook.
“She was the person who would always keep it real with you from day one.
“When I was pregnant in high school, she took me under her wing, befriended me and helped guide me, as she was also a young mother.
‘When I first had Louis she was one of our first visitors, she kept telling me how beautiful my son was and how proud she was of me.
“I’m in disbelief.”
Klein’s cousin Nick Klein said the biggest concern now was her two surviving relatives.
“She has always been the light of our family, caring for her mother, brother and children,” he said.
“She’s always been that person. She would give you the shirt off her back.”
The arrested couple will appear later today at the Cook County Courthouse in Bridgeview charged with murder.
