Aussie sparks heated debate over the ‘correct’ way to eat two-minute noodles
A woman has sparked a heated debate after sharing a ‘controversial’ opinion on how to properly make instant noodles – but not everyone agrees.
Abbey revealed that when she makes two-minute noodles, she puts all the spices in it, pours boiling water over it and lets it marinate for a few minutes before eating.
But what keeps her awake at night is that some people let the water drain after the noodles are done.
“I just follow the instructions on the package,” she said. ‘But so many people drain all the water – which is borderline psychopathic. The water is all the good, it’s the best part.’
She added, “Some people also add all the spices to it and don’t have that nice, liquid water!”
Many agreed that Abbey’s method was ‘correct’.
‘Finally someone said it! The broth is literally the best, that’s why I eat the noodles,” one person said.
“It’s all about adding the right amount of water to cook the noodles so you’re left with a bit of concentrated broth,” wrote another. “I think drainers use too much water.”
“I always save the water – it’s like drinking good noodle juice, especially on a cold day,” one woman added.
But others claimed she ‘missed out’ on a tasty dish.
“Drain water and then add flavors, it tastes different,” one man wrote. ‘The taste is stronger, not watered down.’
“I put the spices in before I put the water in, then I let it sit for a while and let the water drain because I don’t like my noodles to be soggy,” said one.
Others shared different ways they enjoy their two-minute noodles.
“I drain most of the water, add spices, then add a little bit of butter mixture,” one person shared.
“I drain the water then add butter and Vegemite,” one man wrote.
“I add so much cheese, it’s not everyone’s cup of tea but I could honestly live on it,” said one woman.
