Masked Singer Australia fans rage as Channel Ten airs ‘repeat’ episode instead of grand finale: ‘Scammed’
The Masked Singer Australia aired a so-called ‘filler episode’ on Monday night, ahead of the grand finale episode on Tuesday.
With the finals so close, many fans were left confused as to why they were seeing ‘replay’ content just before the winner was announced.
Channel Ten aired a similar retrospective last year, with the special episode this time looking back at notable past contestants including Charlotte Crosby, Kyle Sandilands and Melody Thornton.
Not everyone was entertained, with many sharing their thoughts on social media, and several people unaware that Ten was not airing the final on Monday.
“Is this whole thing just a filler episode?” one viewer asked while someone else said, “Wait? What? I don’t see who wins #MaskedSingerAU tonight?’

Yet another person wrote: “You’d feel pretty ripped off if you were in the audience for this show,” while someone else said: “Wait, the finale isn’t today?”
“Yes no, not interested in a clip show,” said one, while someone else wrote: “Jan not happy with repeats.”
“Tonight is just a ‘filler episode.’ Why do they do that?’ asked another, while another said: ‘No idea why #MaskedSingerAU continues with the stupid filler episode.’
“Why are they wasting an entire show with previous contestants,” someone else asked, while someone else wrote, “Oh wait, I just realized this is like this for the entire episode.”
Not everyone was entertained, with many sharing their thoughts on social media, and several people unaware that Ten was not airing the final on Monday.
“Honestly they could have just had a normal competition episode and ended up with the final two tomorrow night,” said one viewer.
“They manage to drag out every other episode with content, why should this be any different?” they added.
Not everyone who tuned in to the special episode was disappointed, and some enjoyed watching the retrospective.
“They did this last year, I’m fine with it, I like to hear the best bangers,” said one.
