Barbra Streisand says she wanted to give her famous ex-boyfriends their privacy in new memoir, but she was forced to write about them

Barbra Streisand has spilled the tea on some of her famous ex-boyfriends in her upcoming memoir My Name Is Barbra.

But if it were up to her, the 81-year-old singer and actress would have left them out completely.

During an interview with Gayle King on CBS Sunday morningBabs revealed that she was told she had to write about her A-list lovers if she hoped to move copies of her new book.

She certainly has no shortage of Hollywood stars – and even world leaders – to write about, as she’s had a bevy of star exes, including Miami Vice’s Don Johnson, celebrity hairstylist turned superstar, producer Jon Peters and former Canadian Prime Minister. Pierre Trudeau.

“Listen, I didn’t want to write about it each theirs!’ Streisand said emphatically after King listed her greatest achievements.

“But you did!” King pushed back.

She blamed the more salacious material on her editor.

“My editor said, ‘You have to leave some blood on the page,’” she said.

Barbra’s star exes also limited themselves to her relationships, as she was married to The Long Goodbye star Elliott Gould from 1963 until their divorce in 1971, and later married her current husband James Brolin in 1998.

Gayle wasn’t going to let that stop her from asking about her exes, so she asked Barbra if she was having fun with her exes.

“With the men in my life, yes,” the Yentl star and director replied.

Her marriage to Gould produced her only child, Jason Gould, who would perform sporadically before concentrating on a career as a singer.

She separated from his father in 1969, but their divorce was not finalized until two years later.

After her divorce, but before her divorce was finalized, Streisand began a brief relationship with Pierre Trudeau during his first stint as Prime Minister of Canada.

She then had another brief relationship with Ryan O’Neal in 1972, around the time they starred together in the comedy classic What’s Up, Doc?, directed by the late Peter Bogdanovich.

Streisand later admitted that she was in love with her The Way We Were (1973) costar Robert Redford during the filming of their classic romance, although she claimed the two were never together.

She then spent nearly a decade with celebrity hairstylist Jon Peters, who is said to have been an inspiration for the comedy Shampoo starring Warren Beatty.

Peters reportedly tried to get close to Streisand by offering to do her hair — even for free — and she later sought him out after being captivated by another woman’s hair he styled.

Streisand helped Peters launch a new career when she appointed him as producer for both her 1974 album ButterFly and her controversial 1976 remake A Star Is Born, in which she starred opposite Kris Kristofferson.

The two reportedly split in 1982 due to distance caused by Streisand directing and starring in her critically acclaimed film Yentl, which required her to move to London during filming.

After her divorce from Peters, Streisand had a multi-year romance with the film composer – and heir to the Baskin-Robbins ice cream empire. They were together from 1983 to 1987.

Barbra then briefly dated Nash Bridges star Don Johnson in the late 1980s.

Although she was rumored to have dated several A-listers in the late 1980s, including Clint Eastwood and Steven Spielberg – who have jointly denied a relationship with Barbra – she turned to a younger man starting in 1992.

The hitmaker was in a relationship with tennis superstar Andre Agassi until 1993, despite the fact that he was 28 years younger than her, which received a lot of attention at the time.

It was Brolin with whom her romance ultimately stuck. The two met in 1996 and married two years later and have been married ever since.

Barbra became the stepmother to James’ two sons and a daughter from his first two marriages, including Avengers: Endgame star Josh Brolin.
