‘Sit in for a record-breaking evening!’

Host Scott Cam, 60, recently told the Today show that he feels extremely “nervous” every year around auction time for a surprising reason.

“It’s the most important show of our season and we have absolutely no control… anything can happen,” he began.

“It’s probably the only show where we sit on the couch in the final hoping for the best.”

It comes after The Block judge Marty Fox revealed he thinks Blockheads Steph and Gian will be ‘tough to beat’ at this season’s auctions, which took place on Saturday.

Marty told TV Week magazine that he believes the winner will be a battle between Steph and Gian and Eliza and Liberty.

“Based on the size of the land, the northern orientation and the results of the winning rooms, Houses 4 (Steph and Gian) and 5 (Eliza and Liberty) would be the clear frontrunners,” he explained.

However, Marty said either of the homes could break price records in the Melbourne suburb.

“I believe that each of the homes this season could break the suburb record in Hampton East (15km from Melbourne’s East CBD), which is around $3 million.”

Marty thinks Steph and Gian’s impeccable taste gives them an edge over the competition.

He completed the couple’s master bedroom and said the striking aesthetic is appealing to buyers.
