A Florida man allegedly tried to circumcise his two-year-old nephew while he was babysitting.

Timotheus Powell, 29, of Rocky Mount, Virginia, was caring for his infant nephew in Daytona, Florida, when he cut off the toddler’s genitals, according to police reports.

The babysitter watched over the young boy while his mother was at work on October 17, 2023. He reportedly called the mother around 7 p.m. and said her son was “bleeding from his penis area because glass got into his diaper,” according to a report babysitter. police report.

Powell initially claimed he tried to wipe the glass, which broke the skin near the little boy’s genitals. The child was taken to hospital with a cut in the groin.

An investigator with the Florida Department of Children and Families alerted police about the incident four days later, and Powell was arrested on October 30.

When police questioned Powell, he claimed he became frustrated with the toddler and lost his temper. He said he may have pulled the child’s penis down with too much force and started wiping it very hard, police said. Click on Orlando.

The little boy’s grandfather was asleep at home during the alleged violent incident, and the grandmother later asked the mother not to notify anyone to keep law enforcement out of the picture, an incident report showed.

In chilling security footage of the disturbing incident, Powell was exposed for shouting at the child and spraying him with a bottle of water, before threatening to put soap in his mouth if he wasn’t quiet.

The surveillance camera caught Powell changing the boy’s diaper before walking away with “some kind of object” in his hand, according to reports Huffpost.

The grandmother declined to provide additional images, police said.

Powell insists he didn’t cut him, even though he got mad at the child. He said he may have “pulled the child’s penis down with too much force” and “began wiping him very hard,” the report said.

But a medical professional disputed that claim, saying the laceration did not match Powell’s version of events because the cut was “far too clean and precise to be accidental in any way,” detectives said.
