Taylor Swift’s new album becomes the fastest selling of 2023 as she smashes ANOTHER huge music record
Taylor Swift has broken another music record as her highly anticipated album 1989 (Taylor’s Version) soared to the top of the UK charts.
The hitmaker, 33, has become the female artist with the most number one albums this millennium.
Not only that, Taylor’s new album has become the fastest-selling album of 2023 with 184,000 copies sold in seven days, doubling the 2014 album’s original sales of 90,000.
The new album contains records that hit the charts in 2014, such as Shake It Off and Style.
This week the album beat the rest of the top ten combined.

Success: The hitmaker has become the female artist with the most number one albums this millennium
Madonna, 65, who is currently on her European tour, is the only other female artist with a similar number of number one albums, with a total of twelve.
Last week, Taylor had officially announced that she had reached billionaire status, just 17 years after her illustrious career as music’s biggest superstar.
Bloomberg reported that Swift, 33, is now worth more than $1 billion, joining the coveted ten-figure club that also includes Kim Kardashian and Oprah Winfrey.
The success of the singer’s multi-Grammy Award-winning Eras Tour – which is on track to become the highest-grossing tour in history – has been credited with skyrocketing her net worth.
This is in addition to the massive earnings from her first six albums, which she re-recorded while negotiating with streaming platforms over how her music would generate revenue.
Taylor had re-released her own music to directly own the music, as her music had previously been sold to others within the industry.
In addition to releasing the same songs with updated lyrics, Taylor has also recorded never-before-heard songs from what she called “the Vault,” such as Suburban Legends and Now That We Don’t Talk.

The achievement is particularly monumental as she is one of the few to achieve the milestone ‘through music and performance alone’.
In addition to boosting her net worth, Bloomberg reported that Swift’s 53 concerts in the United States this year “added $4.3 billion to the country’s gross domestic product.”
This is because the massive tour led to extensive travel, ticket sales and merchandising opportunities for her legions of fans.
The outlet notes that their analysis was “conservative” as it is strictly based on figures that are publicly known, such as its real estate portfolio, streaming deals, etc.
Swift kicked off her Eras Tour in the United States in March after a now infamous Ticketmaster debacle last November, which left many ‘Swifties’ without tickets and being snapped up by resellers instead.
The site had crashed and fans were booted out of the virtual queues.
Swift spoke out amid the chaos, telling her devout fanbase that she was just as “pissed off” as everyone else.
At first glance, ticket prices ranged between $49 and $499. But on resale sites like StubHub and SeatGeek, they went for thousands of dollars.
SeatGeek told it American news in August that the average price of an Eras Tour resale ticket was $1,619.
The tour is predicted to earn the star a whopping $4.1 billion – the most any artist has ever earned from a single tour in history – according to the WashingtonPost.
