The Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra could match the iPhone 15 Pro’s titanium build

A new rumor suggests that the upcoming Galaxy S24 Ultra will have a titanium frame, making it Samsung’s first smartphone to be made of metal.

According to Korean tech news site The Electhe company has apparently been considering using titanium in its devices for the past two years, but only recently made the decision to implement it – presumably because the iPhone 15 Pro recently did the same. Maybe Samsung is feeling inspired. According to the report, around 15 million titanium cases will be manufactured, but this will cost the tech giant a lot. Switching to this metal will increase the cost of each unit “four to five times.” Currently, Samsung uses aluminum cases for its phones, which cost about $20 each. Do the math and the company may end up having to pay $100 per unit, or $1.5 billion in total.
