Ohio woman kidnapped and held captive for three days speaks out about terrifying ordeal – as William Mozingo, who abducted at least three other women, walks free after serving less than two years in prison

An Ohio woman who feared she would die at the hands of a serial kidnapper has shared her horror after his latest arrest.

William Mozingo, 33, has been to prison four times for kidnapping and torturing young women, and was arrested again last month after Chloe Jones, 23, was found with a fractured skull in a remote garage in Kenmore, Ohio.

Mackenzie Mastin, who was kidnapped in 2017, has promised to testify at his next trial after being sentenced to 18 months for the attack on her.

But she fears the tattooed brute will inevitably be released to hurt more women.

“I just couldn’t believe he was gone and could do it again after doing it so many times,” she said NewsNation.

Mackenzie Mastin told NewsNation, “I just hope he gets what he deserves and that this time they will learn their lesson and not let him walk down the street and hurt another woman.”

“My prayers go out to Chloe and her family for what she has been through, and I want her to know she is not alone in this.”

Mastin was repeatedly beaten and threatened with a knife after Mozingo held her and his own young brother captive for three days in a Canton home.

“He kept putting a knife to our throats and saying he was going to kill us,” she said.

“And he threatened to break my jaw if I, you know, cried or screamed for help or something like that.

‘He hit us all the time, my eyes were completely black and swollen because he did that to us.

‘He had us locked in that room for three days and he kept saying that we wouldn’t be able to go home to my parents.

“It was probably the most terrifying experience of my life.”

Chloe Jones was also told she would never see her family again after making the mistake of accepting a lift from Mozingo last month.

The young mother was held without water for four days before she was discovered battered and bruised by the garage owner, who had tipped off the police.

Mozingo doused her with gas and hit her repeatedly with a baseball bat before police arrested him at gunpoint.

‘It was terrifying. Being afraid for your life countless times, I can’t even count how many times he has threatened my life,” she shared Fox8.

She said just the thought of her son helped her survive.

“I thought about him every day,” she explained, “I just saw his face in my head every day.

“I want to tell young girls across America that it is not safe to get in a car with people you don’t know or with a friend of a friend.”

Mozingo was first jailed for kidnapping in 2011 and was on parole for further kidnapping offenses when he attacked both Mastin and Jones.

In 2014, he was sentenced to nine months for kidnapping and in 2017 he was arrested again for holding a woman at knifepoint in a Walmart restroom.

He was jailed for 18 months after the attack on Mastin and was released in December 2018.

Four months later, he was arrested for trapping a 29-year-old ex-girlfriend in his Canton home, beating her, choking her and holding a knife to her throat.

Four days later she was found unconscious, badly beaten and half-naked on a nearby road before being taken to hospital with serious head injuries.

The Stark County Court sentenced him to an additional 18 months, and he was released on parole prior to his last recorded assault.

Mozingo is currently being held on a $100,000 bond at the Summit County Jail ahead of his next court appearance on charges including kidnapping, abduction, assault, unlawful restraint and violation of parole.

Kidnapping alone is punishable by up to life in prison under Ohio’s criminal code, and Mastin is optimistic that the courts will finally recognize the escalating danger.

“I just hope he gets what he deserves and that this time they learn their lesson and don’t let him walk the streets again and hurt another woman,” she said.
