EXCLUSIVE: Jason Oppenheim was left ‘cringing’ after ex-girlfriend Marie-Lou Nurk put him on speaker phone during AWKWARD clash with former flame Chrishell Stause – as he claims filming new Selling Sunset ‘strained’ his relationship
Jason Oppenheim was left ‘cringing’ as he watched his relationship with ex-girlfriend Marie-Lou Nurk unfold on Selling Sunset, revealing the reality show made them ‘tense’ as a couple.
The real estate agent, 46, split from German model Mary-Lou, 26, in May after 10 months together, but their relationship will feature in season seven, which was filmed long before they split.
In an awkward scene, Mary-Lou argues with Jason’s former flame, Chrishell Stause, 42, who she accuses of not “making an effort” with her and always giving her “the same compliment.”
The tension eventually reaches a fever pitch when the pair meet for lunch in an attempt to resolve their differences – with the model calling Jason and leaving him on speaker while the pair argue.

Recalling the meeting in an exclusive interview with DailyMail.com, Jason said: ‘I cringed at a few scenes, including lunch, because it was awkward and awkward when it was happening in real life.
‘I didn’t want to watch it! It reminded me of how uncomfortable I felt on the phone. I just sat there and listened and I remember feeling uncomfortable at that moment.”
The couple released a joint statement to announce their breakup, which they said was amicable.
And the pair are clearly still on good terms, with the real estate mogul adding: ‘We text, you know, probably a few times a week. You know, she has a new boyfriend, so I want to respect that. But at the same time, we still have a friendship.”
When asked how Chrishell responded to his breakup with Mary-Lou, Jason simply teased, “I don’t think she shed any tears.”
As for his own love life, Jason is single and enjoys taking time out from the trials and tribulations of dating. His confession comes two months after he was spotted with Danika Tanya in Saint-Tropez.
“I just like taking a step back from dating,” he shared. ‘I’m not eager to be in a relationship or anything serious again. I’m just enjoying my time now. I am genuinely happy. I’m not really dating.’

Jason has also remained good friends with Chrishell, who works at the Oppenheim Group which he co-owns with his twin brother Brett.
The couple split in December 2021 after seven months, with Crishell moving on with non-binary Australian musician G Flip, 30, who she married in May after a year and a half together.
Speaking to DailyMail.com, Jason admitted he never walked into Selling Sunset with the intention of incorporating his love life into the storylines, but he didn’t rule out bringing future partners into the show.
“If you had asked me if I would have ever had my relationship on TV, I would have said no,” Jason said as he reflected on letting the cameras into his romances.
The former couple were an item for 19 months and confirmed their romance on Instagram
Chrishell has since found love with Australian singer G Flip, with the pair getting married in Vegas
“When we started selling Sunset, producers wanted me to go on a date or something, and I thought, ‘That’s not possible,’ but I’m constantly amazed at how open and willing I am to do things every season.
‘If there is a relationship that becomes part of my life, then I am not someone who says no to the production. And it’s not fair to the other people on the show either, because the women are so open and honest and share so much.”
He continued: ‘There are certainly negative aspects, but I think they are usually overcome by a sense of responsibility. If there is one part of my life that is important to me, it would almost be unfair not to share it, while everyone else is sharing their whole life.”
Selling Sunset season 7 will be released on Netflix on Friday, November 3.
