Major ‘wildchild’ Coronation Street star ‘LEAVES the soap after just months after landing role’
A major ‘wildchild’ Coronation Street star is reportedly leaving the soap after just months on the show.
Actress Stephanie Davis, 30, who plays Courtney Vance, will soon have her character say goodbye to the Cobbles, The sun claims.
The publication reports that while Stephanie – who previously starred in Hollyoaks but was fired in 2015 after arriving on set under the influence of alcohol – is ‘impressed with her work’, bosses feel the storyline is complete.
It comes after her dramatic affair storyline with Aadi Alahan in recent months, which ended in Wednesday’s episode when her ex-husband Darren revealed he was giving Courtney a second chance.
Courtney originally left her husband for Aadi after it was revealed that they had had an affair which jeopardized Darren’s business relationship with Aadi’s father, Dev.

Speaking about her departure, a source said: ‘Steph was over the moon when she landed a role in Corrie after things went so wrong with Hollyoaks and she had been genuinely impressed with her work and dedication to the ITV soap.
‘Of course she had hoped that man-eater Courtney could stick around for a few more years, but bosses feel the storyline is complete.
“She’s not going to be killed, though, so there’s no reason why Courtney couldn’t return one day and the door remains open for Steph.”
Representatives for Stephanie and ITV have been contacted by MailOnline for comment.
On joining the soap, Stephanie said: ‘I’m absolutely thrilled to be joining the cast of Coronation Street in the role of Courtney Vance.
‘Growing up I always watched and enjoyed the show, so to be part of Britain’s biggest TV soap, which is in the hearts and homes of so many people, is an honour.’
It comes after Stephanie quit Hollyoaks in November 2020 after 10 years on the soap as Sinead O’Connor.
The star decided to step down from her role in the Channel 4 show, but admitted at the time that it was ‘not about what she wanted, it was about what she knew was right’.

Alongside an image that read, “Goals: Be Happy,” the actress wrote, “Sometimes we make decisions not based on what we want, but based on what we know is right!
‘I have loved bringing Sinead to your homes over the last ten years, but it is with a heavy heart that I have decided to leave Hollyoaks and I am now looking forward to working on new and exciting projects. Excited!’
A Hollyoaks spokesperson told MailOnline at the time: ‘By mutual agreement with Lime Pictures, Stephanie Davis is leaving her role as Sinead O’Connor on Hollyoaks.
‘We would like to thank Stephanie for her enormous contribution to the show and the enjoyment her character Sinead has brought to fans.’
Stephanie’s time on the show had as many ups as downs, as she was fired by bosses in July 2015 after arriving on set under the influence of alcohol.
Her spokesperson said in a statement at the time: ‘Stephanie’s contract was terminated following warnings for tardiness, attendance and following a final incident where she declared herself incapacitated due to alcohol consumption.’
A Hollyoaks spokesperson subsequently confirmed to MailOnline: ‘Stephanie Davis will no longer be filming Hollyoaks. Her contract has been terminated with immediate effect.”

However, all seemed to be forgiven three years later, when Stephanie announced in May 2018 that she was returning to the long-running show.
She said in a statement at the time: ‘I’m over the moon to be given this amazing opportunity and so excited to bring the feisty Sinead back to Hollyoaks.
“I can’t wait to see the whole cast and crew there, many of whom I have known for years. I just want to start learning my first scripts. I can’t wait to get back on set and get back to acting, which is my passion.”
Stephanie has been part of the Channel 4 soap since she was 16, after finding fame on Lord Andrew Lloyd-Webber’s show Over The Rainbow.
