RBI appoints Manoranjan Mishra as Executive Director effective from Nov 1

The Reserve Bank of India (RBI) on Wednesday announced the appointment of Manoranjan Mishra as Executive Director (ED) with effect from November 1, 2023.

As ED, he will lead the Enforcement Directorate, the Risk Monitoring Department and the External Investments & Operations Department.

Before taking charge as Executive Director, he was Chief General Manager of RBI’s Regulation Department. He has over three decades of experience in RBI having worked in various departments including banking and NBFC regulatory, banking supervision and currency management. He has been a member of several working groups at national and international levels and has contributed to the formulation of regulatory and supervisory policies.

Mishra is a postgraduate in Economics and MBA (Banking and Finance). He also holds a Masters degree in Finance and Financial Regulation from Aston Business School, United Kingdom.
