Multiple students are stabbed at Van Nuys High School in California: Suspect on the run as campus is placed on lockdown

At least two students were stabbed after a fight broke out at Van Nuys High School in Los Angeles, officials said.
A suspect is on the run and the school remains locked.
Police responded to the stabbing around 11 a.m. on Wednesday.
A 16-year-old boy is in critical condition after being stabbed. A 15-year-old was also stabbed and taken to hospital.
A third student, another 16-year-old boy, was not stabbed but was examined at the scene.

Footage from the scene showed a student being taken out on a stretcher.
The police have not yet released a description of the suspect.
LAPD has asked anyone with information about the stabbing to contact police.
The Los Angeles Unified school district said the high school will remain closed until police give permission.
“Students are safe and LASPD remains on site and continues to provide safety and support to students and staff. Parents of students have been notified,” the LAUSD said in a statement.
