Kimberly Wyatt has revealed that her father Jeff is ‘losing the battle’ against lung cancer.
The 41-year-old Pussycat Dolls star, who appeared on Monday’s episode of Lorraine on ITV, admitted she felt ‘heavy and hopeless’.
Kimberly is one of the celebrities taking on a terrifying challenge in Channel 4’s Don’t Look Down: Stand Up The Cancer.
The singer opened up to stand-in host Ranvir Singh about her family’s sad circumstances as she explained that she was taking part to raise awareness.
Kimberly said of the challenge, “If walking a wire can make a difference at all, I’m willing to go out and do it.”

Kimberly said, “It’s (Cancer) been happening my whole life. My father is currently losing his battle with lung cancer.
‘You feel heavy, you feel hopeless. If walking a thread can make a difference at all, I’m willing to go out and do it.”
And about walking the high wire, she added: “Even the first experience dispelled fears I didn’t know existed. Have the mental capacity to jump off a bridge.”
Love Islander Chris Hughes appeared alongside Kimberly in the Lorraine segment as he also takes part in Don’t Look Down.
The reality star said: ‘I had a live testicular exam. My cousin initially had testicular cancer so I went ahead this morning and my brother went to get checked the day after and was diagnosed.
“He says he would never have been checked if he hadn’t seen me do it.”
Chris said about the high wire challenge: ‘You’re not supposed to learn it in three weeks. Our instructor said it takes people months. I knew I had a fear of heights, but I had only been on ladders and scaffolding.
“I think my body – the fear just overwhelmed me and I can’t help but cry. It gives you a push and a reminder of why you’re doing it. So when I’m bawling my eyes out, you know you’re doing this to raise money.”
