Man arrested after woman’s tragic death at a home in Bendigo, two young children discovered at the scene

A man has been arrested after a woman was found dead in a home in regional Victoria.

Emergency services were called to the Kangaroo Flat home near Bendigo just before midnight on Sunday.

A woman was found unconscious in the house and was rushed to hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

Two primary school-age children were found unharmed in the home.

A Junortoun man 44 was arrested a few hours later in Harcourt North following an extensive search by Victoria Police assisted by its air wing unit.

He is currently assisting the police with their investigation.

Homicide detectives and forensic officers remain at the home Monday morning, where a crime scene remains in place.
