Alen Moradian: Police release footage of men wanted in relation to the death of drug kingpin in Bondi Junction carpark

Two men captured on CCTV are wanted by police as they search for who shot a notorious Sydney drug lord.

Alen Moradian, 48, was shot dead as he sat in his car near the busy Bondi Junction shopping precinct in Sydney’s east on June 27.

The murder sparked a wave of shootings and gang violence across Sydney.

Images of two men, described by police as African and of tall and slim build, have been released as detectives search for those who carried out the execution.

The police are calling on anyone who knows the identity or whereabouts to come forward.

Last month, two men were charged with Moradian’s murder.

Police allege a 42-year-old man was the “mastermind” behind the shooting, which they say was motivated by an outstanding debt.

A 31-year-old man was also charged and is accused of helping to coordinate the brutal daylight attack.

Both men cannot be named for legal reasons.

Detective Chief Inspector Jason Weinstein previously said police did not believe the two men were the shooters and were looking for who pulled the trigger.

“The allegations are that the 42-year-old man and the 31-year-old man did not commit the act themselves,” he said.

“They gave the imprimatur, they gave permission or the instructions for it to happen.”

Det Supt Weinstein confirmed that half a million dollars was owed to an organized crime group.

“These two individuals did not owe the money, but other entities within organized crime did,” he said.

Police created a task force in July to tackle gun violence and organized crime gangs after a wave of public shootings that followed Moradian’s killing.
