Pete Davidson and John Mulaney POSTPONE comedy show in Maine after tragic mass shooting that left 18 dead: ‘We are thinking of you all’
Pete Davidson and John Mulaney have postponed the dates for their comedy show in Maine following Wednesday’s tragic mass shooting in the town of Lewiston.
John announced the postponement via his Twitter on Thursday with an emotional message.
“We are devastated by the events in Lewiston. Shows scheduled for this weekend in Maine on Saturday 10/28 and Sunday 10/29 have been postponed. We are thinking of you all. -Jan and Piet’.
The shows were scheduled for locations in the cities of Bangor and Portland, approximately 30 miles (48 kilometers) from the site of the horrific incident that left 18 dead.
According to a post on Portland’s Cross Insurance Arena website, information on possible make-up dates will be announced sometime in the near future.

The mass shootings took place at Schemengees Bar and Grille and the Just-In-Time Recreation bowling alley.
Authorities say a man named Robert Card shot and killed 18 people and injured 13. A massive manhunt is underway for the shooter.
The gunman was an Army reservist who was taken by police for an evaluation after military officials became concerned in mid-July that he was acting erratically.
The shooting in the state’s second-largest city is the 36th mass killing in the United States this year.
In August, it was announced that Pete would be joining John and The Daily Show vet Jon Stewart for a short run of comedy shows.

The comedians kicked off their four-show run in Springfield, Massachusetts, on September 8, before doing two shows per night in Bethlehem, Pennsylvania, on September 9 and in Atlantic City on September 10.
The return to the stage would be Pete’s first tour since entering rehab earlier this summer.

The SNL alum entered rehab to seek help for post-traumatic stress disorder and borderline personality disorder, a diagnosis he revealed in 2017 on Marc Maron’s WTF podcast.
Pete recently hosted the season premiere of Saturday Night Live on October 14, his first time as host since leaving the famous sketch show.
During the opening minutes, he addressed ‘the terrible images and stories from Israel and Gaza’ in very personal comments.
In the emotional cold, he discussed his firsthand experiences with tragedy and terrorism, and how the September 11 loss of his father, Scott Davidson, a New York City firefighter, affected him deeply.
