Qantas crew member rushed to hospital after noticing unusual smell on board plane

A Qantas crew member has been taken to hospital after complaining of feeling unwell. Some passengers noticed an unusual odor.

The QantasLink flight from Canberra to Melbourne landed safely just after 8pm on Thursday and the crew member was treated in hospital as a precaution.

Melbourne Airport said emergency services were called after the plane landed to assess the entire crew, 9 News reports.

Passengers on board reported no injuries or health problems.

As a precaution, maintenance will also be carried out on the aircraft on Thursday morning.

There are no expected flight disruptions on Thursday as a result of the incident.

A Qantas spokesperson said: “Pilots on a flight from Canberra to Melbourne reported an unusual odor in the cockpit before landing.”

‘The aircraft landed normally and the pilots and crew were assessed by paramedics on arrival in Melbourne.

‘The pilots did not require any treatment, but one cabin crew member was taken to hospital for further medical assessment.

‘No passengers were bothered by the smell and the aircraft is being checked by technology.’
