EXCLUSIVE: Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s ex-partner, who she dumped after he was caught asking for a threesome, cheers himself up with a haircut after being fired from his job as a TV presenter

Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni’s ex-partner, who she dumped after he was recorded asking a colleague for a threesome, has now been dropped as a TV presenter but has still run for cover for the first time since the scandal to get a haircut.

Andrea Giambruno, 42, Ms Meloni’s partner of 10 years and father of their seven-year-old daughter, Ginevra, was taken off air while making lewd sexist comments and they were later featured on a satirical TV programme.

The audio was broadcast on a program called Striscia La Notizia and Giambruno was heard proposing to a colleague and asking if she was interested in a “threesome…or foursome” after initially telling her he was having an affair.

Giambruno has remained tight-lipped since the incident – although the TV company he works for Mediaset released a statement saying he is ‘sorry for the embarrassment caused’, adding that he has agreed to cancel his show Diario del Giorno (Diary of the Day).

Shortly after the official announcement, he was spotted at his local hairdresser in Rome, where he and Ms Meloni live, getting a haircut at the salon of stylist to the stars Gennaro Capasso.

Capasso – who posted a photo of Giambruno on his Instagram page – has cut the hair of footballers Cristiano Ronaldo and Romalu Lukaku, as well as ex-Chelsea and current Roma boss Jose Mourinho.

He captioned the photo: “A change for our friend,” along with an emoji of a pair of scissors — after styling his famous quiff much shorter and cutting back his beard.

Capasso said, “He came in and we had coffee and talked for a bit, and then he said, he wanted a different look, so I cut his hair much shorter than normal and trimmed his beard back. I think the new look suits him perfectly, he is a regular customer.’

Interviewed in the Italian media, relationship expert Dr Terri Orbuch, author of Finding Love Again, said that ‘people who break up like to break away from the things that associate them with a former partner and that losing his quiff was Giambruno’s way to deal with the situation’.

Ms Meloni, 46, who has been in power for a year and leads a right-wing coalition, announced her decision to split from him last week on her social media platform X, formerly known as Twitter.

In one of the video clips broadcast, Giambruni is heard talking to a female colleague as he repeatedly pats his stool and asks, “Can I touch my balls while I’m talking to you?”

While in another he said: ‘How are you, darling? Do you know that (name redacted) and I are having an affair? All of Mediaset knows it and now you too.

‘But we are looking for a third person, as we do with a threesome. Fours too. Would you like to be part of our working group?’

When the woman asks, “Is there an aptitude test?” Giambruno replies: ‘Yes, you have to f***’.

Meanwhile, Italy’s National Order of Journalists also announced that it has launched an investigation into Giambruno’s conduct and is considering taking disciplinary action against him.

Italian media have speculated that there is tension between her party and the Forza Italia party, which was founded by the late Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi, whose family owns Mediaset, as a result of the leak.

But Berlusconi’s daughter Marina, who sits on Mediaset’s board of directors, hit back, saying: ‘All these rumors are not true. I have a lot of respect for Giorgia Meloni, not only politically, but also as a woman and now even more so.’

Ms Meloni is the leader of the far-right Brothers of Italy party and is known for her traditional Catholic family values and has said in the past that children need both a mother and a father

Gennaro told local media: ‘He said he had his hair cut by the stylists and Mediaset and he didn’t like it, so that’s why he came to me.

‘Of course we talked about what happened, but as you know, going to the hairdresser is like confessing, so I can’t tell you what he told me.

“What I can share with you is that he seemed happy and didn’t seem stressed at all. He was happy to have his picture taken.’
