Huawei debuts first 5.5G router ever – it’s tiny and available from next year, but chances are that you’ll never be able to buy it
Huawei’s LampSite 5.5G networks standard – which the company calls 5G Advanced – to bring high-speed networks to large internal connections such as airports and shopping malls.

The 5.5G hardware itself has a volume of just 1 liter and a weight of 1 kg – which Huawei claims is the smallest in the industry.
One LamSite X-box also supports all radio access technologies and broadband wavelengths to support low power consumption and high performance. It’s unique, the company says, because it combines mmWave 5G and sub-6Ghz to achieve 10 Gbps throughput – which is especially notable for indoor use.
Huawei is pitching this router to both consumer-facing and industrial environments, from business districts to factories, claiming it will deliver greater productivity and efficiency – especially considering the speeds it offers combined with minimal latency.
