Ex-NFL star Sergio Brown ‘faces murder and concealment of a corpse charges’ after arrest for allegedly killing his mother – whose body was dumped in a creek near her home

Ex-NFL player Sergio Brown is facing two separate charges after being taken into custody in connection with the death of his mother earlier this month.

Brown’s mother Myrtle, 73, was beaten to death and dumped in a creek behind their home in Maywood, Illinois, and her body was found on September 16. Brown was reported missing alongside her by his concerned brother Nick.

According to TMS Sportsthe former security will appear before a judge Wednesday after being transported from San Diego to Illinois, with a hearing just a few miles from where he is accused of killing Myrtle and dumping her body in a creek.

It is believed he is charged with both first-degree murder and concealing a corpse.

Authorities brought Brown from Mexico, where he had been seen partying and dancing after his mother’s death.
