Trump’s ex-chief of staff Mark Meadows ‘given IMMUNITY’: Former top aide ‘told special counsel Jack Smith he warned ex-president MULTIPLE times that voter fraud claims were baseless’
Donald Trump’s former chief of staff Mark Meadows was granted immunity in the Jan. 6 investigation and has spoken repeatedly with prosecutors, a bombshell report has found.
Meadows reportedly told special counsel Jack Smith that he had repeatedly warned Trump after the 2020 election that claims of election fraud were “baseless.”
He told prosecutors that the ex-president was “dishonest” to the public when he said the election was stolen. ABC news reported.
The deal allows him to testify under oath against his old boss
“Obviously we didn’t win,” Meadows told investigators, the report said.

Meadows was Trump’s last chief of staff in the White House.
An attorney for Meadows did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
In August, Smith charged Trump with four felonies for attempting to interfere with the vote counting and block the recognition of Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 US presidential election.
Trump has denied guilt in the charges.
Thousands of Trump supporters stormed the US Capitol on January 6, 2021 in a failed attempt to overturn his defeat.

Since then, Trump has continued to make the false claim that his loss was the result of fraud.
According to ABC News, Meadows has spoken to Smith’s team at least three times this year.
That included once before a federal grand jury.
He only did that after he had been was given immunity to testify under oath, sources told ABC News.
The case is one of four criminal charges Trump, 77, is facing in his bid to retake the White House. He is the frontrunner for the Republican nomination in 2024.
