A 24-year-old woman has been charged after a shocking video of her stealing an Amazon van for a joyride before falling out went viral last week.
Elizabeth Celeste-Tristen Frasier has been charged with unlawful driving of a car and failure to stop in an accident involving property damage.
In the footage, Frasier – dressed in a white shirt and bow tie – is caught jumping into an Amazon van and driving away, before swerving so hard that she falls out and crashes the van.
According to Kent County Prosecutor Chris Becker, the incident happened last Saturday around 1:15 p.m. in broad daylight near Calvin Avenue Southeast and Hazen Street in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
The entire episode was captured on a surveillance camera in the Amazon van.
In the video, Frasier jumps into the driver’s seat of the van.
A man, who appears to be the Amazon driver, can be seen in the background returning to the vehicle and looking inside, but then backs up helplessly.
Frasier wastes no time, quickly sitting down in the seat and flicking the gear shift before taking off.
She makes a few turns before warming up and starts moving the steering wheel back and forth, causing the van to sway wildly.
At first she concentrates on the road and leans forward over the steering wheel.
But then, as the vehicle begins to swerve, she begins to grimace and laugh.
As the van picks up speed, she loses control and flies through the open door on the other side of the seat.

She lost control and flew out the window before rolling through the grass

She is seen hitting the grass and rolling along as the van hits a curb and crashes into a tree at 30mph.
At the end of the clip, she is seen walking away from the vehicle in the background, seemingly unharmed.
Days after the video was posted, Grand Rapids police told 13 ON YOUR SIDE that a person had been identified in connection with the case. A woman was subsequently charged.
The charge carries a penalty of five years in prison, plus 90 days and a $100 fine.
Speaking to 13 ON YOUR SIDE, an Amazon spokesperson said, “We are glad the driver is doing well following this terrifying incident and we are working with the Grand Rapids Police Department as they investigate.”
