When Trojanova’s flight to Mexico was “horrifically delayed” by ten hours last week, she took the opportunity to share a “little lesson about sleeping at the airport.”
The content creator explained that your “outfit is very important,” saying she wore layers and brought a blanket from her previous flight
Trojanova recommended “sleeping near other people because the number is safe” and turned the camera to show a few travelers were nearby
“I’ll show you how to sleep at the airport because I’m going to do it myself,” she said. ‘I would have preferred to have gone through security already, but that was simply not possible because of the timing.’
The traveler noted in the on-screen text that the airport’s airside typically has more seating, lounges and food, “but you can’t get in late at night.”
Trojanova concluded that staying overnight in the pre-security area was her “second best case scenario” while waiting for her flight.
She first suggested checking out the free website sleepinginairports.netwith ‘lots of information’ and ‘reviews by real people’.
“This is not sponsored, but I use it myself,” she explained.
Trojanova then showed off that she was dressed comfortably and said that your “outfit is very important” when you spend hours at the airport.
“I’m not proud of this, but I also brought this blanket with me from my flight because it’s the airline’s fault that I’m stuck here for ten hours,” she admitted.
She recommended “sleeping near other people because there is safety in numbers” and turned the camera to show a few travelers were nearby.
Trojanova noted that the airport seats were “not ideal because of the armrests,” but she was able to sleep face down on them
Trojanova has cleverly tied the wire of her earbuds to her luggage and wrist to ensure no one steals her stuff while she sleeps
Before falling asleep, Trojanova cleverly tied the wire of her earbuds to her luggage and wrist to ensure no one would steal her belongings.
‘It is very important that you secure your luggage while you sleep, otherwise someone could come along and take it away. So this is my makeshift solution,” she explained.
The travel expert concluded her video with a tip on how to sleep lying down.
‘This type of seating is not ideal because of the armrests, but there is one position you can sleep in,” she said, turning the camera to show herself face down.
“Wish me luck and good night,” she concluded.
Trojanova’s video has been viewed more than 969,000 times and inspired other users to share their own airport stories.
“One time my dad refused to drive me at 6 a.m., so he dropped me off at 7 p.m. the night before,” one person said.
“I’ve stayed at O’Hare twice, and once in Atlanta. It’s not great, but you’re doing what you can,” someone else added.
“I was stuck at BWI for ten hours overnight when my flight was canceled and rebooked the next morning and I had nowhere to go… I was with my two-year-old,” another recalled.
